  1. You said it. Witt. IMO they are mentally dealing with losing Witt.
  2. Texas still has the horses to make a run to Omaha. May be a bit of a mental hurdle for a bit but they will recover. Bigger issue is with Pierce and his base running “aggressiveness”.
  3. Witt is scratched from the start today for UT against UCLA. For "precautionary" reasons.
  4. I really don’t think Texas will do anything like this. Heck, they do not even dog pile unless it is in Omaha. The pimp coat is softballish. Hope Texas is above all of this rah rah stuff! Let their game speak for itself.
  5. Oh! So now you throw stats into the narrative?!!! That is going to kill some folks buzz!
  6. What was the tiebreaker to give Hallsville 3rd place?
  7. Yes, that is a good one that I can actually follow for the most part and does have a great beat.
  8. According to ESPN, UT has had 8 Top Ten classes and A&M has had 4 since 2011. 3 Top 5 finishes for UT and 2 for A&M in recruiting during the same period. The composite score for that same period for UT is 9.2 and 10.3 for A&M. I threw out the single worst year for each school as they were "anomalies" for each. The highest previous class ranking was 3 for both schools with Texas having 2 and A&M having one. During this time frame Texas has gone 78-60 whereas A&M has gone 85-47. To me, this reflects the anomaly of A&M having the number 1 class as opposed to Texas having another Top 5 class. The class rankings does not include the 2022 class.
  9. Howard and Hasty were both involved in that last turnover to seal the game. One on each side of the ball. One happy, one sad.
  10. It is a shame about the Lady Lobos basketball program. I am an Olds so I remember the Tommy Aldredge days. They were a dominant, feared program statewide back then.
  11. MP coach outcoached Hallsville coach until that last possession. MP should have pressed that last inbounds.
  12. What a game! I will note that 95% of the fouls called were by 2 of the 3 refs. Not sure if the the third ref was disinterested or was just letting them play!!!
  13. Counter to this point: Consumer boycotting can lead to a some outcomes; 1. The company feels the pressure and changes their stance and employee jobs are saved. 2. The company digs in, profits are down and employees are let go.
  14. There is more “talent” at your local Walmart around midnight than there is presently here at the Alamo Bowl. All of the jokes you hear are apparently true. Ugh.
  15. Not worried about the Covid. Knock on wood, I have only missed 3 days of work in 32 years due to illness. Been all over the world and exposed to all types of cooties so I should be good.
  16. Will have fun and should be safe. I am wearing non-bias colored clothing so I should be good unless Oregon comes out in some strange alternative uniforms which they are prone to do!!
  17. I will be at this game for the annual Alamo Bowl game trip. Been going to this game for years as the old college buddies get together with the families. About 20 of us will be attending. Not pulling for either team. Just wanting a decent game. Most have been decent short of the Colorado game a few years ago.
  18. Out of curiosity, as I don’t follow ND closely, but why have none of the aforementioned QB’s not worked out for ND? My assumption is that they were all recruited by Kelly. I know that the academic requirements are less at LSU than ND but is that the going to be the tipping point to get a better QB at LSU than ND? Or, is developing a QB a Kelly issue? Why hasn’t the QB position panned out for Kelly teams?
  19. I was at the game in Morgantown today. The leader on the team is clearly Bijan. He was on the sideline and still seemed to be bought into the program. Worthy is Worthy. He is good. Unfortunately, who you think is, or should be, the team leader (QB) is NOT the team leader. You can plug in the name Thompson or Card here. This conclusion if for both their play and leadership, or lack thereof. Seeing the team in person reinforced this. Both QBs lack field awareness as they only see half of the field at best. And no, at least from what I saw, I did not see them getting into anyone's face to exhort any type of effort. The Texas fans at the game are more down on the players than Sark at this point. I think that the players are "soft" and cannot handle getting punched in the mouth and how to respond accordingly. The OU loss cracked their heart and the Pick 6 against Oklahoma State broke it. They cannot handle adversity and if it happens early in the game then they are done. This, and the secondary is a step slow in coverage. Oh yeah, tackling is an afterthought. The team has lost confidence in itself.
  20. Thompson has not been the same since the pick 6 against Oklahoma State. While not a premier QB to begin with, his biggest issue right now is between the ears. Bases upon what I saw on Saturday, much of Card's inability to do anything was holding the ball for too long. Perhaps a lot of that has to do with his lack of game time reps? In today's game you need to know when to tuck it and run. With that said, still need a better QB, OL. and tackling skills and a reduction in drive killing penalties. And lastly, a better attitude.
