    I agree 100%.

Keeping a staff intact after complete turnovers in 2022, 2019, and 2017….. is stability that’s very much needed right now.

The team we saw in November was NOTHING like the team we saw in September.  The growth in the last part of the season was tremendous.  It makes no sense to start all over AGAIN with new coaches AND new offensive and defensive systems.

Like I previously said….. we took the #2 team in the state to the brink in the area round. Clearly this staff has things going right.  Take back a questionable 4th down call by the coach. And that game may have had a different outcome.

    Lets keep that ball rolling.

As far as the 2-18…. Of course that’s a concern.  But peeking at Copperas Cove’s non district schedule those years was pretty brutal with good teams like Waxahachie .   Then you get into district play with the likes of Temple, Bryan, Killeen, etc.  That’s a tough situation to take over when the program is in decline.

The bigger questions for me are……

    1.  If he’s successful and Marshall makes some deep runs…..will he stick around and build something special?  Or will he head off to a bigger school?

    Or…….

    2.  If he’s unsuccessful and things go poorly…. How long will he get before something changes?  No one wants a repeat of 2011/2012.

Anyhow….. I like the move.  And I support Coach Hammett.  Let’s go Mavs!!!

If Hammett can keep the normal cycle of what Alvarez has done in other programs, in the next two years things will are going to be really fun in Marshall.

He may have a questionable record overall as a coach, but I think this was the right move. I really think Marshall is not only going to challenge for district, they very well could be challenging for the region in the next few years if everything stays true to form.

I honestly felt that Marshall was on the brink of a really solid run. Let’s hope Alvarez‘s retirement doesn’t slow that down.

Honestly it all depends on who steps up and makes an offer to the UIL if no one makes an offer I think NFHS gets the first shot at the title games..I do know its important to the UIL to have the games on linear TV but I think that importance is slowly waning...Bally continues to make cut backs and I imagine they will have a scaled down production at state this year

This is honestly a chance for Texan live to step into that void. Pick up the state games. Begin to work out agreements with TXHSFB programs such as Longview/Texarkana Gameday or those great broadcast options in the RGV to capture the regional flair in the broadcasts. Build it that way so that it keeps what makes TXHSFB special, you have a product that no one can beat. So I am going to need you to make that happen.  🤣

From all I can see the the type of defense they use is built around stopping the run. Dfield will force a lot of one on one situations. They will have a very hard time containing the Tiger offense.  In my opinion only, I think we will use our defense primarily to stop the run. We can go man on receiver because they usually only split one outside. Needless to say we have a above average safety.. I feel the Tigers have the edge on special teams. We'll see 👀

Exactly what I saw. They don't have a lot of back end speed...DField is going to take the top off of that defense. Tigers just can't play sloppy and keep them in the game late. These kind of teams can be a pest late in a game with a solid RB. I think Dfield rolls...

I think anything can happen in #txhsfb and Lancaster matches up well with Longview.

Longview plays clean, we win big. The Frisco-Reedy game proved that. Penalties were minimal, and we moved the ball at will. Need more of that.

But Lancaster has big play capabilities that Reedy did not. They'll keep coming until the final whistle.

Longview needs to control the ball, control the clock. Keep Lancaster off the field.

All of this...we play our game, we win.

I have watched longview and there is no comparison in amount of passing longview does compared to carthage

Of course the amount that Carthage throws versus how much that Longview throws is different. You weren’t talking about passing games. You were talking about Carthage knowing how to put a running back in the slot. Longview has had their number one and number two running backs out wide this year, while their third string is in the backfield. We put them all over the field. Just making a point you don’t know what you’re talking about when it comes to Longview and their play calling

Well good thing about being in carthage is unlike in longview he could move out to slot and still get plenty of touches prolly just about as many as starting rb

I can tell you don't watch the Lobos because you don't know what you are talking about. We moved our 2nd RB (Washington) out wide. He would start at every school in East Texas not name Longview.  He has been killing it in the slot and where ever he lined up. Hell, he had an almost 200 yard receiving game when Tatum had almost 200 yards rushing.  Longview knows how to get good players the ball...

People will always choose free over paid our Longview games on TexanLive have done quite well (hell I called one this year and it was a well viewed game)...I can't speak for a Longview game done on NFHS via 3rd party

You guys have great quality on the DCTF magazine(s), podcasts, TFT, and website content. I am a subscriber so I do watch Texan Live and enjoy some of the broadcasts. I really wish you guys would get the down/distance, quarter, and clock on the display. That is the only thing lacking for me. It is a decent product but not to the level of the other DCTF offerings until it has the onscreen updates. You didn't ask for it, but my two cents....😜

They aren't ranked #2 in the state for nothing.

Games like this are when those games Vs. Longview, Carthage, and Texas High come in handy.

After facing the Lobos, the Bulldogs, and the Tigers (combined 31-3)...... do you really get nervous playing Heritage?

    I don't think so.

    Doesn't mean we'll win....lol.  But I don't think playing #2 is intimidating after you've already played a 5A D1 #2, a 4A Div II #1, and a 5A Div II #4.

    Bingo.
