  3. Porter's all-time playoff history... 2016 - Loss 42-6 vs PA Memorial 2017 - Loss 35-3 vs Nederland 2018 - Loss 37-30 vs Alvin Shadow Creek (SC went on to play for title in their first year) 2019 - Win 21-17 vs Fort Bend Hightower, Loss 45-6 vs Manor Needless to say, this will be the furthest they've ever traveled in their history. Definitely going to be a new experience for all of their boys. Just come out, settled down and ready to play Lobo football.
  4. I just can't see Porter staying too close, but it definitely does look like they play up or down to their competition. They're worthy of being tied for second in district play. Definitely will have to stay discipline when it comes to their rushing attack. Some of those passes that they were making last night vs BH and catching were just insane. Little bit of luck no doubt to get that win, but for us, just have to play Longview football and we'll be fine imo.

In 1917, Glimer defeated Longview, 13-6, at McClellan Field in Gilmer. In 1922, Henderson dominated Longview, 50-0, at Montgomery Park in Henderson. In 1939, Edgar Worsham scored Longview’s lone touchdown from 35 yards out in a 6-6 tie with Tyler at Lobo Stadium. In 1944, Art Rowland rushed from a yard out right before halftime to lift Longview to a 14-7 victory over Tyler at Rose Stadium. Bobby Dill’s 40-yard reception gave Longview the lead in the early portion of the second quarter. In 1950, Don Ruff returned a 57-yard punt in the first quarter before Marshall scored 27 consecutive points in a 27-14 Maverick win at Lobo Stadium. Ruff also hauled in a 7-yard passing score in the 4th quarter, in a game that saw the Lobos turn it over 7 times. In 1961, Don Petty rushed for two scores while Robert Myers added another in a 35-9 beatdown of John Tyler at Lobo Stadium. Longview threw for 200 yards on the night completing 12 of 16 passes in the win. In 1967, Larry Meeks returned a punt block for a score in the fist quarter before Steve Judy, Joe Miller, Rodney Hill and Sid Sistrunk went to work in a 34-8 Longview win over the John Tyler Lions at Lobo Stadium. JT registered just 146 yards on the night. In 1972, Chuck Boyd rushed from 3-yards out in the third quarter before Larry Harkless ended the game with a 10-yard rushing score in a 14-3 Longview win over Texas High at Grim Park in Texarkana. In 1989, Andre Davis rushed for score scores and Selwyn Broughton and Richard Murphy added two more touchdowns in a 28-21 victory over Mesquite at E.H. Hanby Stadium. The Lobos rushed for 306 yards on the night. In 1995, Clifford Bell rushed from two yards out while Keith Noel recovered a fumble for a score in a 15-9 Marshall win over Longview at Maverick Stadium. Isiah Stoker scored the only touchdown of the night for the Lobos. Longview threw for 235 yards on the night and produced three Mesquite interceptions.
  6. Penalties are definitely going to end our season at some point this winter. Just can't continue to do that and expect to get away with it. One of the most undisciplined Longview teams I've seen in a while, which is saying something.
  7. Depends how bad it gets. Usually makes it through halftime though....especially with the post season a week ago.
  8. Should be a little worse with all I've seen of West this year tbh. JV had a running clock entire 4th.
  9. We'll be making it further than Tyler soooo... meh. End of the day, Longview's offense plays to it's strength in the run game. It's not changing, we've all accepted it. If getting Boosie on the flat and letting him make plays happen...then that'll only help us going forward. Tatum is going to be Tatum. Only thing that really frustrates me is the penalties, because they continue to be self inflicted. But again, are you willing to say you see an upset on anywhere in the first three rounds for us?
  10. Someone's mad. Don't make fun of medical conditions just because you think the PA guy was "crying" due to a poor first quarter Come on man. You want to say you're legit, then be professional.
  11. Playoff results: Hallsville vs New Caney Porter - Missing Score Longview defeated Humble Kingwood Park, 3-1 (25-16, 25-10, 19-25, 25-17). Whitehouse defeated Huntsville, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-14). Texas High defeated Lufkin, 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 30-28, 25-21). I'm assuming Hallsville was able to knock off Porter, but haven't seen any score yet. Winner will take on McKinney North in the Area Round. Longview will take on Forney in the Area Round, date/time TBD. Whitehouse will take on Lucas Lovejoy in the Area Round, date/time TBD. Texas High will take on Melissa in the Area Round, date/time TBD.
  12. Negative. Never even come close either shockingly. Complete opposite of our rivalry with Lufkin, which of course being as far south as Lp is…a lot of those have come in the first round. But yea rivalry with JT is based off district title meetings (believe we’re at 18 of those 100 specifically deciding district).
  13. lol man. Of course, complaining about refs right out of the box. And you probably should not comment about a PA announcer who's going through a lot of medical problems, instead of going on YouTube and making fun of them but....you do you. End of the day, y'all were outgained 537 to 179 in total yards (even with Longview having a 9 and a half minute drive in the 4th quarter). 25 first downs to 12. And gave Andrew Tutt his first ever 200 yard passing day. Have fun against Forney.
