THE OFFICIAL RANGERS @ TIGERS 4-GAME SERIES THREAD
shoelessjoelives replied to cheaptrick77's topic in Major League Baseball
They lived with Nolan Ryan's wildness early in his career and you made a statue out of him so Darvish could be the next bronze replica in center. -
A sad story about Mantle's life coming from a family that worked and died in the mines. Mantle always figured that since all of his family had died at a relatively young age he would meet the same fate. Then when he had that bone disease that sidelined him in football he probably figured he was doomed at that point.

Top 10 RB's of All Time
shoelessjoelives replied to Lobo97's topic in Cowboys/Texans/NFL/Pro Football
He is also #1 in Attempts too !! He carried the ball more especially when he got close to the goal. The boyz always gave him the ball. Jim Brown was the greatest, sorry boys. Do some homework and look at the past when the real men where playing both ways and not on "special teams" for one play a game or so. That was unheard of back then. -
Top 10 RB's of All Time
shoelessjoelives replied to Lobo97's topic in Cowboys/Texans/NFL/Pro Football
Brown's 5.2 yards per carry is totally awesome considering he played when there was more running than passing. They knew he was going to get the ball and still could not stop him and when they did he was dragging a couple of guys with him. You need to study your history a little closer. Without a doubt the best running back ever is Jim Brown. He totally dominated the sport and left after nine years to go to Hollywood where real people like him are immortalized. No doubt Brown is the greatest back ever. Ask some of us who had the pleasure of watching him play and the overwhelming consensus will be the same......Jimmy Brown was and is the greatest runner of all-time......hands down....!!! -

Wasn't that in the Reggie Bush days? If that is the case then USC should not have kept any title because they had an ineligible player in Bush......RIGHT !!

Cowboys vs N.Y. Giants
shoelessjoelives replied to Crawford's topic in Cowboys/Texans/NFL/Pro Football
And the Doomsday team being introduced with their new(maybe it is not so new) theme music and sung by one of the Ring of Honor members Don Meredith. "Turn Out the Lights, The Parties Over" gave Meredith noted fame on Monday Night Football. When Dandy Don would start to sing that song, much to the chagrin of his partner Howard Cosell, that usually meant that the game was out of reach for the team Dandy was singing to. How ironic it is that this time it's the team that Dandy played for and earned him a place in the famous "Ring of Honor". ...... I guess the fitting last words to this season for the boyz where shouted in glee when they won a Super Bowl by Jimmie Johnson....."How Bout Dem Cowboys !!" -
