  1. ^ Unbelievable... but then he's got to get paid more than his union members...what a dufus company... and looks to be on the way out. Sounds sorta familiar; i.e., General Motors. From Turkey and the Ukraine...now, that's super interesting!
  2. I'm not arguing with you about it at all....isn't it strange though, cities can do what they want... take Chicago for instance...big, BIG gun laws, but more killings. And read this morning Indianapolis is also on that radar of hundreds of killings.
  3. The "now is for them"...I couldn't find anything that he backtracked on... he thinks in urban areas, it should be restricted. "He continued, “You do need to have a discussion about how we deal with situations where there is a tremendous amount of crime and easy access to the kinds of weapons that can create a lot of damage quickly. But that needs to be done in context of always preserving Second Amendment rights.” In other words, he still believes it should be "curtailed" - have a "discussion" about it in urban areas...
  4. As to Simpson, if you read the last page, "You’re welcome. Keep using that First Amendment; we don’t want to have to use the Second one!" LOL But as to his thinking of piping water from Toledo Bend...that's not right - period! Toledo Bend is NOT a Corps lake - THANK GOODNESS - and it's half owned by the State of Louisiana. Now if Dallas/Ft. Worth folk want water, they can dig one and take their own property. Can any of us seriously believe that if East Texas needed water, that we could take part of Dallas/Ft. Worth to build a reservoir? Seriously? I think not!
  5. In Carson's own words - http://cnsnews.com/news/article/michael-w-chapman/ben-carson-2nd-amendment-needed-case-gov-t-goes-rail So it's true...that surely gives a conservative something to ponder! But also, as with any political speaker, I've yet to hear one that I agree with 100 percent....but the Second Amendment is a BIG one!
  6. Obviously wasn't talking about the primaries, I'm talking about the general election in '08...and I'm sorry, I thought you said you voted for Obama in '08 in the general election. And seriously...did you ever THINK for one minute that it would come out any differently?
  7. Steel unions slit their own throats...now they reap their greed. Just like anything else "union-made", companies find other places to get products from, and obviously cheaper. Too bad a steel company can't have employees who are non-union... And what do you know, Ralph Hall is speaking...interesting.
  8. So there could be a problem with the pipe, if it is indeed produced overseas...no telling who's making it... and gee, reckon their "production of pipe" is top notch?
  9. Uh-huh, I bet you are... more votes for your peeps, right?
  10. Okay, I'm a little confused...and I'm not picking on you, but I don't get it... didn't you say you voted for Obama in '08? See why I'm confused. If I'm mistaken, my mistake, and I apologize.... however, if you did, then uh.....I'm totally confused by your statement.
  11. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2014/05/29/gay-couple-told-not-to-return-to-east-texas-restaurant/ On Drudge, no less...LOL PITTSBURG, Texas (KRLD) – A couple says they were told not to come back to a restaurant in East Texas because they’re gay. In the town of Pittsburg, Texas, Big Earl’s Bait House and Country Store is an institution. So Collin Dewberry and his partner Kelley decided to have breakfast there. He says everything seemed to be going fine until they paid their check and were approached by their waitress on the way out. “After I paid, her countenance seemed to change drastically,” said Dewberry. Big Earl Cheney, the owner, explains what happened next. “She told them the rules are on the door and it says ‘Welcome to Big Earl’s where men act like men, women act like ladies, no saggy pants and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.’” “And so I laughed and I asked what do you mean?” says Dewberry. “And that’s when she said to us… ‘to put it plainly, we don’t serve fancyboys here.’” The waitress happens to be Cheney’s daughter, and the owner says her choice of words were her own. “I don’t think I should have to discipline her. I think the parents of those children — or kids or being whatever they are — should discipline them or teach ‘em how to act in public. I don’t think it’s my place to discipline her.” Gay Couple Told Not To Return To East Texas Restaurant 1080 KRLD play Cheney says the reason Dewberry and his partner were asked not to return was because of their actions. “What I saw was one of them half way under the table with his legs stretched out into the other guy’s lap. And he kind of looked really possum eyed at me as they say it in East Texas, he kind of looked at me like ‘uh-oh’.” But Dewberry says nothing inappropriate was happening. “We’re sitting on separate sides of the booth and really not even doing much talking. Because it was early in the morning and we were just sitting around waiting for our breakfast.” He says after the incident, he went to the city for help. “They suggested that I not try to contact him… one of them used the word bigot.” But bigot isn’t a word that Cheney would use to describe himself. “Homosexuality, Blacks, Hispanics — they all come in here — everybody comes in here to eat,” said Cheney. “I’ve served my country for over 20 years; I know what my freedoms are.” He continued, “I’m not gonna have people coming in here with their butt showing; I’m not gonna have people coming in here naked; I’m not gonna have people coming in here having sex on the tables.” Cheney says he refuses to admit the couple back into his restaurant. Dewberry maintains they were doing nothing wrong and were discriminated against. “Nobody deserves to be treated disrespectfully at an establishment that just seconds ago accepted their money.” Gay Rights Attorney John Nechman says there really isn’t any legal recourse for Dewberry and his partner to take. “We dont have protections in most parts of Texas for Gay and Lesbian people, other than in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and El Paso,” says Nechman. “There’s really no protections to go after someone because they’ve made a slur. Now if they made a slanderous statement, a libelous statement, where they claimed for example that the two were committing an act that they didn’t do, there would be legal action to take against them.”
  12. So it had previously passed the x-rays, but made 'em cut it out anyway? Or didn't pass and had to replace? I'd still like to know who's making the pipe for Keystone... any idea on that? A major point though - these x-ray guys...I see that as a huge problem...especially if they're getting kickbacks....course from what I hear, they stroll in like they're "IT".
  13. True that...I'm not sure at which border crossing he went over...whichever, the senators and reps should get involved.
  14. I seriously doubt "any" politician would be your "representative"...however, if you were in Hall's district, he was your rep...whether you liked it or not. And how odd, you think Hall deserves a respectful exit; yet, let anyone else who has been in office that long, and you're bent for leather that he/she should come under "term limits"...my guess is because Ron Paul supported him. Now why did Paul, your "all be all/know all" do that? I know full well about Perry... I did not, however, about Hall... Hall wasn't on my radar, he has never represented me. Bottom line is, a supposed conservative was voted in versus Hall...but you still have a problem with that, conservative or not... because OMG, he has the R after his name.
  15. Ditto that... but we have an egghead as POTUS, so ya know...truthfully, our Senators should get involved.
  16. So... did they put out the decisions or not?
  17. True that; those x-ray guys are super picky...especially if they're checking every weld... and they'll do that with every contractor; contractor who hasn't the right/best employees, well, it shows in the x-rays; contractor gets fired, company gets a new contractor/s. I thought it also a bit hilarious that PHMSA would "know" of these things... what, were they out with their own x-ray team x-raying the welds? Surely they jest...LOL... you're right, they looked at information already sent to the govt. As to the pipe itself...wonder who is producing and making the pipe? Canada or coming from somewhere else?
  18. ^ True that... now isn't it just super odd that Ron Paul supported Hall....I didn't realize it till a few minutes ago that Hall was actually a Democrat before he switched in 2004... Suffice to say, when they did the redistricting last year or year before last, I was VERY concerned that we might end up in Hall's district - thankfully not!
  19. Nope, not at all... obviously you don't understand the "programs". Apparently you think any ole Tom, Dick, Harry & Susie can apply and get the money... obviously you don't have a clue. Nothing new there. Nope, never have wished that folks would vote the "way I would"... you, on the other hand, if someone disagrees with your "candidate", then they're called names - no different than the liberals.
  20. Nope, not hypocritical at all, just wish folks in other states would pick more conservative candidates... their choice, they live with it. Is Ralph Hall your House rep? And he's been in for how many years... and just read... your "annointed one", Ron Paul, actually endorsed ole Ralph....well, well, well....ole Ralph Hall, a RINO, a RepubliCON being endorsed by ole Ron Paul...well, well, well....
  21. LOL! True that... Truthfully, if we look back before the labeling of "ADHD" not to mention the "medicine" for same being a part of the problem...how many kids did we go to school with who had ADHD... now just think about it...were there kids who couldn't keep still, couldn't/wouldn't learn? I can't think of a single one! But one kid, the class clown...I'll never forget this - in 8th grade, we had to recite a speech - he got up, apparently some of the other boys had paid him $1 each to do it... he said... "Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me a beer..." that's about as far as he got before the teacher exploded...and it wasn't a good explosion. There again, he graduated, and in the top of the class.
  22. ^ True that, and I can't see anyone in the right mind even trying.
  23. Nope, your rep is crapola, but then you already knew that...what, can't put someone new in? My rep is MY business...I don't want him to retire, I want him exactly where he is!
