  1. Farallon Capital - I've typed that company name before... now what the devil was it on? UGH....Ohhh, I remember... they were buying oil and gas property from a bankrupt oil and gas operation. Some sort of "eco" guy, huh! LOL Well, well - http://www.insidermonkey.com/blog/hedge-fund-news-warren-buffett-john-paulson-tom-steyer-320505/ When liberal billionaire Tom Steyer ran his hedge fund firm, he worked so hard to stay under the radar that his Farallon CapitalManagement was known as a secretive operation in the investment community. He avoided publicly and guarded his privacy even as Farallon became one of the largest hedge funds in the nation. But now Steyer is pursuing an aggressive financial campaign to support Democratic candidates and push climate change measures on both the federal and state level, sometimes by using stinging attack ads. He is backing his NextGen Climate Action group with $50 million and hoping to raise another $50 million from donors. That would make it one of the biggest outside political groups in the country. ------ Now, where's Harry Reid screeching about that versus the Koch Brothers????
  2. I agree.. sorta... the whole thing boils down to WORKING HARD. What's so odd, I see jobs posted all over the place, employers are wanting good employees....if the nitwit college graduate bunch doesn't want a job that pays "beneath" them.... awwwwww
  3. ^ Now, what do you suppose would've happened had Obama been a Republican, and endorsed his "white" skin color?
  4. So what the heck were they protesting - very poorly written story - the mayor hiring a police chief? or something else?
  5. Excellent - "However, the ejected delegates and others opposed to Team Cantor have since had success appealing the slating attempts, leaving Allen and Cantor with little to show for their hardball tactics other than alienated constituents, a terrible local public relations problem, and worse, a rapidly gaining primary opponent in challenger Dave Brat."
  6. Used to love that show; then Charlie came off... then became a DUD! However, the Big Bang Theory... love it! "PENNY, PENNY, PENNY" "BAZOONGA!"
  7. Okay now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm impressed! Who would've THUNK it... LOL
  8. Either that or to protect themselves from the deer they're now killing - but it's neither....POTUS is creating his Red Coats army on American soil
  9. Now, USDA is buying ballistic armour. Okay, now, you know......http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/05/15/Dept-of-Agriculture-Orders-Ballistic-Body-Armor A May 7th solicitation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks "the commercial acquisition of ballistic vests, compliant with NIJ 0101.06 for Level IIIA Ballistic Resistance of body armor."According to the solicitation, "The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General," seeks "Body Armor [that] is gender specific, lightweight, [having] trauma plate/pad (hard or soft), [and] concealable carrier." The order includes "tactical vest, undergarment (white), identification patches, accessories (6 pouches), body armor carry bag, and professional measurements." "All responsible and/or interested sources may submit their company name, point of contact, and telephone number." The solicitation says those sources received in a "timely" manner "shall be considered by the agency for contact." On May 15th Breitbart News reported on a Dept. of Agriculture solicitation for "the commercial acquisition of submachine guns" with 30-round magazines.
  10. And here comes the executive pen - http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_IMMIGRATION?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2014-05-16-04-19-05 "The program allows Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to ask local police and sheriffs to detain people who have been booked and whose fingerprints match up in a federal database for immigration violations. ICE can then decide whether to deport them. That's led to complaints that people are being deported for immigration violations without being convicted of any crime, or with only minor offenses. Police and sheriff's officials also complain people are afraid to interact with law enforcement because they worry they'll be deported. Following recent court rulings that raised questions about the program, local governments increasingly have announced plans to refuse to honor the detention requests." I'm a little confused, isn't illegal, exactly that, breaking our FEDERAL laws, and requires a 2-year mandatory prison sentence?
  11. POTUS makes it clear, amnesty will help Democrats - http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/051414-700940-obama-knows-more-immigrants-mean-more-democrat-votes.htm?ref=HPLNews Gee, ya think?
  12. ^ I totally agree with you... and people thought 2008 was bad... pooh... won't even be a drip in the bucket! And all those European nations... well, forget them, they won't be able to even function...they'll have riots upon riots...
  13. Very true... Wal-Mart, working at fast-food restaurants, etc., etc. are high school and kids going to college jobs. And let's face it, if they're taking even 17 hours in college, depending on their major, they can only work about 30 hours a week, else the grades suffer. Now if grown-ups work at something like that, it should either be a second job, or they have very little skills. No skills, no experience, won't stay at jobs for long periods, well then, you get what you sow.
  14. http://www.cnbc.com/id/101677450; In other words, we're going to do exactly what we want to do, we don't need Congress, and no one is going to stop us. Uh-huh, yeah, we got the message. -------------- The Obama administration has its sights set on immigration reform, raising the minimum wage and implementing gun control, initiatives Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett said Thursday are all achievable on some level this year. "We're going to work with Congress wherever we can," Jarrett said at the Skybridge Capital SALT 2014 hedge fund conference in Las Vegas. "There's still an enormous amount that we want to get done." Of the goals she listed, immigration reform was the one to which she devoted the most time and expressed the highest level of confidence that something can get done. Jarrett said a coalition of political groups, law enforcement and religious leaders has banded to push a bill that she said could get passed over the summer. "We have a window between now and August where I actually think we can get something done," she said. "When you have that many people for us, you have to say this is an opportunity we should seize and we have to make sure that our voices are heard." Elsewhere, she said prospects look good for raising the minimum wage, which the White House would like to see climb to $10.10 an hour. Obama "does not believe, in this country, you should have to raise your children in poverty," Jarrett said. "The thing that's interesting about it is you find cities and states around the country are acting on their own, private employers are acting on their own. The feeling in this country is it's time to raise the minimum wage." She pointed to companies such as Costco and The Gap that have acted unilaterally on raising wages and believes that sentiment will spread. That's the kind of action she hopes to see in the gun debate. Congress has been reluctant to infringe on gun owners' rights, but local governments have been more receptive. "If we can't get it done in Washington, then we're going to get it done at the local level," Jarrett said. "We're not the perfect union yet. We're a work in progress. Collectively, we can make a huge difference."
  15. True that... but I can tell you one thing, I'm not scared... you?
  16. Agreed... oh, joy....freaking turncoat (meaning Ryan there)...
  17. So it got stayed... LOL I don't think these federal judges ought to be interfering with state's rights and the folks of that state wanting this or that... not right. When California votes not once, but twice for marriage to be between a man and a woman - something's seriously wrong with these JUDGES! Course the 9th Circuit is super whacked! And the Supreme Court ruling that they're basing their decisions on, has absolutely nothing to do with what states can or cannot do, but that the feds, themselves, as an employer, must honor same sex marriage, as in insurance, etc., etc.
  18. Just did a case... 6 illegals who rented a house, and when everything was said and done, they found 140 illegals in that house... the 6 illegals who brought 'em here, no one had more than a Mexican 8th grade graduation, and NONE of them could speak English... or so they said. Uh, yeah, Bushy, might wanna rethink it; he won't, he's an idiot! Now, Rubio has come out and said if R's take the Senate, they'll push amnesty.
  19. Now, did you know that USDA had sharpshooters? http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/15/us/as-park-service-culls-deer-in-washington-it-helps-fill-bellies.html?hp&_r=0&assetType=nyt_now So can't kill the tortoises or the mice, but we can sure shoot the heck out of the deer.
  20. Good for her, hopefully a lot more her age get engaged in politics.
  21. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/05/14/Dept-Of-Agriculture-Orders-Submachine-Guns-With-30-Round-Magazines A May 7th solicitation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks "the commercial acquisition of submachine guns [in] .40 Cal. S&W."According to the solicitation, the Dept. of Agriculture wants the guns to have an "ambidextrous safety, semiautomatic or 2 round [bursts] trigger group, Tritium night sights front and rear, rails for attachment of flashlight (front under fore group) and scope (top rear), stock collapsible or folding," and a "30 rd. capacity" magazine. They also want the submachine guns to have a "sling," be "lightweight," and have an "oversized trigger guard for gloved operation." The solicitation directs "all responsible and/or interested sources...[to] submit their company name, point of contact, and telephone." Companies that submit information in a "timely" fashion "shall be considered by the agency for contact to determine weapon suitability."
