  1. Looks like this is older news that just didn't make its way onto here. Job was posted a few weeks ago and has already expired according to the school website.

  3. Per Matt Stepp: I just spoke to Groveton HFC Brandon Craus and confirmed he is stepping down after 4 yrs to take a job on staff at Dayton....Groveton is open #txhsfb @dctf
  4. Carlisle should be fresh. They're coming off 7 straight bye weeks. Alto rolls
  5. Completely understand. 700 yards is 700 yards though. And according to the East Texas Players of the Week poll on here it looks like the starters only played the first half. Pretty sure I saw that the QB threw for 300+ the week before against Corrigan. I'm just going by stats I read on here. They could be horrible.
  6. There's a big chance Centerville will be sitting at 0-5 going into that game too. I like Lovelady.
  7. I saw in the paper they had over 700 yards of offense last week against Colmesneil. Yes I know it's Colmesneil, but you have to do something right to get 700. Might make the drive and come see this game. Haven't seen either of these two play this season. Saw Groveton in 7 on 7 in Crockett this summer. Good QB, 1 tall athletic receiver, and a speedy slot.
  8. Heard Lovelady's #1 is the real deal. What's the kids name?
  9. I think Alto edges out Tyrod Taylor and the Buffalo Bills
  10. Have yet to see either team play this season and is hard to tell much from the records. Groveton has lost to two good teams in the classification above them and then beat an extremely poor team. San Augustine, as you said, has played and lost to 3 bigger schools. I'll put my money on the home team. Wouldn't mind seeing this one. It's hard to find a game in 2A with lots of passing.
  11. Tried to read this without laughing....couldn't
  12. Not to familiar with District 9 but, I like Shelbyville, West Sabine, San Augustine, & Joaquin in District 10. Will be interesting to see how all the teams will embrace their new coaching. Alto, Kerens, Price Carlisle, & Cayuga in 11. Don't think any team in this region will have a answer for Keenan Johnson from Alto. Centerville knocked them out last season in round 4 but, they graduated a huge portion of their playmakers. I wouldn't count out Anderson-Shiro in district 12. They have an extremely good running back coming back. Looks like Lovelady and Hull-Daisetta graduated some important kids. Besides Centerville, looks like the other spots are up for grabs. It will be interesting to see Groveton in year 2 of running the spread. At the end of th day I'll put my money on Alto in this Region.
  13. Who is this? I thought the new Groveton AD and coordinators came from a big school? But yes I was wondering the same when looking at scores from Friday night. For their sakes I hope it was just an off night
  14. Centerville and Groveton look to have the hardest non district schedules in my opinion. Any locals for any of these teams have any insight on their teams this year as far as who's coming back, coaching changes, etc. This looks to be the district of smash mouth under center football. This district and all of Region 3 are going to produce some great lower classification games this year
  15. Now with Head Coach Josh Finney leaving Hull-Daisetta, that makes one more school in this district that is going to go through a coaching change. I'll be intrigued to see who gets 2nd and 3rd in this district.
  16. Anderson-Shiro Centerville Groveton Hull-Daisetta Lovelady West Hardin I see Centerville as the clear favorite and West Hardin as the clear least favorite, but not sure about the other teams. It's a new district with a team or two dropping down a classification and if I remember correctly a few teams are going through head coaching and coordinator changes, I could be wrong though. Region III looks to be a tough one. Thoughts/Predictions??
  17. I was wondering the same thing here. Also, any news on the OC position? I heard it was open and that was about a month or so ago
  18. Was just wondering who some of the young head coaches and coordinators in East Texas were. Always have liked seeing a young coach climbs the coaching ranks fast.
