  1. If all of the useless curriculum directors, assistant superintendents, etc. were to be eliminated, there would be enough money without having to get rid of qualified and much needed teachers. There is one school district near me that is creating a position for a high school principal they are reassigning and can't get rid of while they are cutting teaching positions. This is a common practice in some places. If you have a principal or other administrator that you can't get rid of, creat a central office position for them. Get rid of the junk in the central office and you will save a LOT of money.
  2. Here's hoping that Cayuga stomps Tenaha and sends them back to the woods of Shelby County.
  3. I would imagine that the county judge can pick which games he covers since his brother owns KIVY and KMVL in Madisonville. Lonnie Hunt is better than some of those clowns they have on small-town radio stations. He is just very biased in favor of the team he is covering. As for Crockett and Kountze, I'm sure the gangs in both towns are interested in the outcome.
  4. I suspect you are right about Tenaha not celebrating with Champagne..........Ripple and MD2020 is more to their liking. Oh, and of the teams I had back in the 80's, only one ever lost to Tenaha. We were 5-1 against old Raymond Jackson and his overalls and rubber boots.
  5. I always like to listen to KIVY broadcast Crockett games. Those hayseed announcers always criticize any call made by the officials that goes against Crockett and any Crockett player who misses a shot is fouled and the refs won't call it. LOL LOL Not many teams have the county judge doing play-by-play on their games.
  6. Gives Tenaha fans time to stop by the liquor store on the way to the game. Also, by having the other game first, the hosts don't have to clean and fumigate the gym before the second game.
  7. Crockett and Kountze!! Somebody better call out the national guard to surround the gym. :nowhearthis:
  8. I can't tell you how upset I am at Crockett's demise. Good job, Daingerfield.  Playing nobodys all year always catches up with you in the end.
  9. Nothing new about this. It was that way last year.
  10. Fortunately for me, I never had to live in Houston County and am very happy to never have worked in Crockett. I know too many people who have worked there to ever want to get involved with one of the worst school districts in the state of Texas....never worked for Lovelady, either.
  11. If I lived in Tyler, Owens is the guy I would want. If he has no love for the north side of Tyler, he is DEFINITELY the man for the job.
  12. Nice to hear that the Crockett gang will be spread out and probably can't congregate in both places. I also can't imagine Crockett agreeing to play at Hudson and I can't imagine why Hudson would want them there unless they are planning some major remodeling work anyway.
  13. I doubt if anyone in Martinsville knows how to use a radar gun. These kids probably top out at around 80 mph and those people in Martinsville think he's the next Nolan Ryan.
