  1. Now that was FUN to watch! Another shut out for the Ranger pitchers! :happy65:
  2. I made the game yesterday, second one this year. Both losing efforts. The dumb mistakes this team is making is just beyond me. I don't understand the lack of "mental alertness" for lack of a better word. Idiot base running mistakes cost David Murphy a triple. Melhuse throws a strike to second that would have gotten the runner out.........if Kinsler and Young hadn't been in their own little worlds and merely watched the ball sail into center field. Rupe was just plain awful in relief. The last half of the game was just plain hard to watch.
  3. I nearly called it a night early because it was looking pretty pitiful. Came awfully close to giving this one away but I sure am glad I stuck with it. Hamilton saved the day with his two run shot. Well worth staying up late to watch.
  4. It was a great night at the ballpark even though the Rangers lost. I got to see 1)Nolan Ryan throw out the first pitch ( but I don't get the yellow and white jersey with #34 on it), 2) Kinsler hit a homer and join the 20-20 club and 3) I got to see Hank hit another one out. Would have been a perfect night if only the bullpen could have held the lead for Volquez.
  5. Sunday is fan appreciation day? I didn't realize that. I know I have tickets for Saturday. I better check to see if I have some for Sunday as well. I thought fan appreciation day was the last home game. I haven't been able to find anyone to work for me next Wednesday so I may have to eat those tickets. Hard to make those afternoon games. Sure would be nice to see the boys win out. It has certainly been dismal watching them play on the road trip.
  6. Ugh! Giants get the ball back after the kick and get a cheap three points. 17-16 at the half (well, 3 seconds left)
  7. Rangers sweep the A's  Maybe we WON'T end up in the cellar of the west.
  8. I was at the game last night and it was great to see Hank hit one out again. That was a sky high HR he hit to right field. It looked bad when Mendoza got hit. I was sitting on the first base side and when he dropped he had his back to us. It looked like he wasn't moving. Of course, when stuff like that happens the ballpark monitors don't show replays so we couldn't tell where the ball hit him. I'm sure he has a big old bruise on that knee today. Bullpen looked good again and A. J. Murray gets his first major league win. Congrats to him :happy65: By the way, the Rangers have a record of 12-6 in the games I have attended. Too bad I wasn't able to go to more games this year
  9. Rangers almost get shut out in a loss to the Royals. Worst part is Loe had to leave with soreness in his arm. He sure pitched like something was wrong. Hope it isn't serious.
  10. It obviously doesn't matter to you or most of the baseball world but it still matters to us Ranger fans. I'm still going to make a few more Ranger games before the season ends and I would much rather watch them win. Win or lose, either way, I will be at the ballpark.
  11. It would be a miracle if the Rangers could get back in the race. Don't see it happening but there is nothing wrong with dreaming. If this club doesn't change too much for next season, I see the Rangers having a much better season in '08. Of course, that will depend on what H & D do with/for the pitching staff. Made both WS games and enjoyed both of them. Thought Loe was trying to give it away with those dumb errors but he rebounded and did a great job as did our bullpen (once again). Would love to see the Rangers pick up another sweep tomorrow.
  12. That first game was something special. You almost felt bad for the Orioles pitching staff......almost. After the season the Rangers have had, it was great to see something like that. Rangers leading 6-5 after five innings in game two. Rheinecker will get the win if the Rangers can hold off the birds.
  13. Loe looked pretty good tonight. I was also impressed again with Wood in his two innings. Francisco had me worried but good defense behind him bailed him out. Benoit was a little shaky too but buckeled down and got the job done. A couple of home runs by Salty (solo) and Byrd (two run shot) didn't hurt any either. Byrd had four rbi's tonight, two of which came on a single (Young flat flew around the bases). Good game by the Rangers tonight.
