  1. Now JT is playing for the second place. Cujo needs win over Poteet now, and for Poteet to get a win over north. For JT to get a share of the District title.
  2. The Mustangs took one on the chin last week vs a big Union Grove team...can they regroup and get a win at home vs the James Bowie Pirates. Bowie was open last week. Bowie has a tall Sr QB 6-3/195... plus some hefty OL, two listed at 5-11/230 and one at 6-3/235. The Mustangs OL has decent size, but a couple of newcomers to full varsity playing time...5-11/245, 5-8/200, 5-11/250, 5-10/285, & 5-11/320...those newbies have got to come along for the Mustangs to be successful and generate some much needed offense production that was missing last week. Mustangs are still breaking in two new QB's 5-8/160 and 6-1/150...and both may get a lot of reps this week. RB's are hoping to see those gaps opened this week...they go 5-11/160, 5-10/170, 5-9/185, & 5-9/170. WR's are certainly hoping for the QB's to have those needed seconds to get off the passes...they go 6-4/180, 6-2/155, 5-6/155, 6-1/165, 5-9/155, & 5-6/135. Defensively, the Stangs have to do much better than last week...still were breaking in some new kiddos and it showed. They have one huge DL player that can mess things up if he gets rolling, 5-11/240 and another quick one at 5-8/180. OLB's will have to contain Bowie on the edges and ILB's will have to plug the middle. New DB's will have to dial it up and play smart. I think Overton slides by in a close one this week and gets a much need W.
  3. Week 7 is upon us! This is the district opener! I will add a preview for this game tomorrow! Atlanta Rabbits(4-1) vs Pittsburg Pirates(3-2) Pittsburg's opponents combined records - (14-14) .500 Atlanta's opponents combined records - (14-12) .538 Atlanta leads the series (22-11-1),Dating all the way back to 1930. Pittsburg is coming in of of a bye week, after suffering a rough loss to Tatum (21-49). Atlanta is also coming off their first homecoming victory since 2012 (vs Tatum (53-35)). Pittsburg is looking to gain some traction in this season, after such a successful season last year. Pittsburg's Schedule | Atlanta's Schedule In the 2015 matchup between Atlanta and Pittsburg, the game was completely one sided. Pittsburg was able to stop the dominant Atlanta run game, and Atlanta had no answer. Pittsburg put up a 30-0 halftime lead, and coasted the rest of the way. Box Score - Tatum@Atlanta 1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th Tatum - 14 0 8 13 Atlanta - 0 12 28 13 Tatum@Atlanta Highlights! I will add to this as I get information.
  4. This will be Marshall's first road game since the season opener Vs. Royse City. The Mavs are (4-0) for the first time since 2001, and if they earn the win, could be (5-0) for the first time since 1996. The 1996 season was the last (10-0) season Marshall posted. Marshall will be at New Pirate Stadium for the third time since its opening in 2013. 5. I've got some interesting stuff about the game/matchup. I'll post it all when I have time. Just thought I'd go ahead and get the thread started.
  6. I know this is mainly an Astros & Rangers forum, but I for one am glad to hear the the Pittsburgh Pirates reached the 81-win plateau tonight. The Buccos win, coupled with a Cincinnati win over St. Louis, gives Pittsburgh a 2-game lead in the NL Central. It's been since 1992, when I was a sophomore in high school, that the Pirates didn't have a losing season. One more win will assure them of a winning season.
