  1. With the 2014 NFL Draft now out of the way, the SEC once again ended up leading the charge in players taken from the conference with 49, with the ACC a very close second with 42. SEC – 49 ACC – 42 Pac-12 – 34 Big Ten – 30 Big 12 – 17 Mountain West – 16 American – 12 Conference USA – 9 MAC – 8 Sun Belt – 4 Ohio Valley (FCS) – 4 SoCon (FCS) – 4 Missouri Valley (FCS) – 3 MIAA (D2) – 3 Big Sky (FCS) – 2 Big South (FCS) – 2 CAA (FCS) – 2 GLIA (D2) – 2 Ivy League (FCS) – 1 Pioneer Football League (FCS) – 1 NSIC (D2) – 1 PSAC (D2) – 1 If there is any number on this list that sticks out initially, it’s the 17 from the Big 12. Their stat was certainly not helped with no Texas Longhorn players being drafted for the first time since World War II was taking place. Still, with the ACC and SEC at the top battling it out, it’s another sign that the south produces the best talent the game of football has to offer.
