  1. Did anyone start practice today or did everyone have spring ball? Numbers? Scrimmages? Marshall Vs. Carthage Aug 19 Pine Tree Vs. Longview Aug 19
  2. Mt. Pleasant currently sits at 0-3 going into this game against Jacksonville. It is Homecoming for the Tigers and they host their second opponent at home this week. Will the Tigers get their first win of the season or will Jacksonville be too much for the tigers for the third year in a row? MP comes off a loss against Sherman and Jacksonville defeated Hallsville on Friday night. Who you got?
  3. This will be Marshall's first road game since the season opener Vs. Royse City. The Mavs are (4-0) for the first time since 2001, and if they earn the win, could be (5-0) for the first time since 1996. The 1996 season was the last (10-0) season Marshall posted. Marshall will be at New Pirate Stadium for the third time since its opening in 2013. They have never lost there, beating Pine Tree in 2013 and last season beating Nacogdoches in the Bi-district round of the playoffs. The Maverick offense continued it roll against Hallsville, scoring 56 points. Royse City 62-13 Crandall 55-7 Arkansas High 56-28 Hallsville 56-21 RB/QB Cameron Haller is leading the attack with 759 yards and 17 touchdowns. 4. This is, obviously, the Game of the Year in District 15-5A. These two juggernauts meet for the first time in many years (maybe ever?)...with plenty of bragging rights on the line. For Greenville...they went into last offseason saddled with a 40-game losing streak. They'd love nothing better than to go into this offseason having reset the losing streak to Zero. (Obviously, Pine Tree wants the same thing for themselves.) The Lions only have three victories coming in to their season finale, but this has already been the most successful season of the decade for them. They have even managed to steal a district win to go along with two nondistrict victories. The Lions are trying for their first victory of the season over a team who comes into the contest with at least one win already. For Pine Tree...honestly, I'm not too familiar with the Pirates or their recent history. They are currently 1-8 and also claim a district victory. It may not mean much to the rest of the district, but sixth place looks a whole lot better than seventh to Pine Tree (and Greenville.) This clash of District 15-5A Superheavyweights is sure to be an instant classic.
  5. Here is how things are stacking up for the first round of the playoffs for 14-4A. The district will face 13-4A in the Bi-district round. Here are their standings. Their enrollments (2012 numbers) are listed Denison 3-1, 4-3 (1291) Wylie 3-1, 4-3 (1751) Wylie East 3-1, 4-3 (1612) Lucas-Lovejoy 2-2, 4-3 (1104) McKinney North 2-2, 3-4 (1771) Sherman 2-2, 3-4 (1710) Royce City 1-3, 1-6 (1239) Greenville 0-4, 0-7 (1204) Games this Friday: Wylie Vs. Denison Greenville Vs. McKinney North Lucas Lovejoy Vs. Sherman Wylie East Vs. Royce City If the Playoffs started today..... they would look like this 4A- Division I Texas High Vs. Wylie East Marshall Vs. Wylie 4A Div II Hallsville Vs. Denison Sulphur Springs Vs. Lucas Lovejoy
