  1. Teams have started work outs and such so time to move from pre-season talk to regular season/post season talk. 2. This week, the Greenville Lions (2-5, 1-3 district) take part in yet another Homecoming. This time, however, it's actually their own, as they play host to the Hallsville Bobcats (4-3, 2-2 district.) While technically still alive in the playoff race, the Lions seem to have started preparing for the future, having promoted sophomore quarterback Weston Jarvis to starter, and giving reps to sophomore RB CaDamian Hale, younger brother of star senior RB Carandal Hale. Hale (the senior) currently has 159 carries for 1,520 yards, as the race for a 2,000 yard rushing season is in full force. --
  3. Well...SOMEONE'S gotta win. :) Sulphur Springs (0-5, 0-2 district) vs Greenville (1-4, 0-2) in a bitter rivalry. Sulphur Springs has dominated this matchup for the last decade, but their sudden decline gives the Lions an opening to score a victory in this series. The winner starts to get back into the District 15-5A race. Greenville, as always, is led by RB Carandal Hale. Hale comes into the contest with 1,089 rushing yards on 102 carries along with 10 TDs. He gained 126 yards on the ground against Longview last week. Defensively, the lopsided score of the Longview game hides an ac

  5. Rivalry week continues for District 15-5A as the undefeated Greenville Lions (just go with it, it's rare I get to say it) make the long, grueling trip 12 miles to the southwest to face their biggest (recent) rivals, the Royse City Bulldogs. Last week, Greenville's stout (for us) defense kept the North Garland offense at bay just long enough for the offense to finally get the bugs (turnovers and penalties) out of their offense, prevailing on two long TD runs in the Lions 21-14 win over the Raiders. RB Carandal Hale was credited with 17 carries for 313 yards and 3 TDs by the Dallas Morning N
  6. Because the rest of the district has their own threads...may as well not get left out. Greenville had a 40-game losing streak heading into 2014. North Garland turned out to be their slumpbuster. Now NG heads to Greenville to try to return the favor, and break a long (27 game) losing streak of their own. North Garland 2014 (District 11-6A): 0-10 (0--7 district) Greenville 2014 (District 15-5A): 4-6 (2-5 district) Useless Trivia: North Garland has two games against Coach Sedberrys this season: against Greenville Coach Marvin Sedberry this Friday, and against his son Marvin Sedberry
