  1. The Alto Yellowjackets open the 2019 football season against the Palestine Westwood Panthers at Jacket Stadium. The Jackets finished the 2018 season with an 8-4 record while the Panthers ended 1-9. Both teams are under second year coaches, Ricky Meeks (Alto) and Richard Bishop (Westwood). The Mean Sting won last year’s meeting 48-28. Both teams hope to take a step forward this season, and a win on this night would be a great start! Lots of returning starters on both teams: Alto with 8/7 and Westwood 6/6. I believe Alto has enough experience and talent to take this one by several touchdo
  2. Alto (10-2A D1) travels to Palestine Westwood (11-3A D1) Friday to open the 2018 football season under new head coach Ricky Meeks (OC Tatum). Kick-off is 7:30. The Jackets are coming off their first losing season in 30 years (4-7) while Westwood, after opening last year with a win over Frankston, lost their remaining games to finish the season 1-9. Westwood is also under new leadership this year as Richard Bishop (OC Grapevine) takes over. Which first-time head coach gets his very first win?
  3. This is the first district game and time to make statements who you got and what are your thoughts?
