Did anyone in their right mind believe Sulphur Springs was better than Longview? And yet, after a loss to a good 5A team the Lobos were dropped to sixth.

 

Does anybody really think Bushland is better than Daingerfield? But, after a loss to the best 3A team in the state, the Tigers are dropped from #1 to #3 tied with Muleshoe.

 

Is there something wrong here? Don't the AP voters just ask themselves, who do I think is better? Or o they say... I have to vote "such and so" ahead of "whachamacallit" because "such and so" hasn't been beaten?

Listen, if there was a 2a team that I thought was better than Daingerfield, I would tell you. I love the Tigers, but I am a realist. I am not going to lose anything by saying there is a better team out there.

 

The truth is... there isn't.
