  • 1 year later...

I've heard of 3 of the songs and many more of the artists. I recognized Keep On Lovin' You by REO Speedwagon, Angel of the Morning by Juice Netwon (for people my age, Shaggy's song Angel used the music and beat from this song), and In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins (because of the Nonpoint cover).

Oh yeah, and I forgot to add that I despise MTV.

I'm yalls age and I know alot of those songs, especially hold on loosely by .38 special. And I agree I can't even watch MTV anymore, it is a joke you have to watch MTV2 to even see a music video!:getlost::getlost::getlost:

April Wine!!!

I will be seeing April Wine for the first time in 23 years later this summer when they perform at an outdoor festival in Ft. Worth. They rarely tour outside their native Canada or I should say Nova Scotia.

Yep -- barefoot !!

Seriously, it was so exiting to be exposed to all these great European bands on MTV circa 1982 that you never heard on local radio.

I remember the first time I saw a Rainbow video & thinking, "these guys are GREAT -- why have I never heard of them???"

SIGH !!!

Yeah, Night Flight was great. They'd do theme shows, like a whole hour of Canadian bands. That's where I first saw bands like Honeymoon Suite and the Headpins.

I miss some of the 80s. But on those occasions where I hear a whole bunch of 80s music, I realize it wasn't all that much better. It's just the feelings and memories it brings back that makes it cool to me.
