ngudhnds
Congrats to all teams that participated yesterday in what was one miserable weather day. Good Luck to Springhill, Bullard, G-water and Tatum. I don't have any doubt that all teams and individuals will represent down at Humble. Trip and Amber were awesome and their hard work is paying off. And as usual, Springhill put on a top notch meet in conditions that were definitely "uncomfortable" as best. Coach Edwards is a top notch coach and her devotions to the kids (all kids) is obvious. X/country is lucky to have such a trooper as an advocate. Springhill in my opinion has an unfair advantage because of her and most of us are hoping that she feels the need for a move to our area LOL. kramer
Some pretty good times. Was it a legit 5K and 2 mile course?

buckeyefan1984
Definitely good job and good luck at regionals. I see that distance running has fallen on hard times in Gilmer, this was a far cry from when I ran distance there. By the way DanielLions23, did Minta not run at district? I'm still curious as to how well she could do if she devoted ALL her time to running? Speaking of Gilmer falling on hard times in the distance department...I see that Bullard and Spring Hill have done a VERY excellent job.

No, Minta did not run at district, she strained her arch about a month ago and coach doesn't want to take a chance on losing her for basketball. She missed not running, but she knows her ticket is going to be basketball. She is not going to run the 2 mile in track this year, she is going to run the 800 and the 1600. Our goal is to run a marathon together when she gets out of college. You need to come join us. Hey, I'm training for a 100 miler in february, we did 21 miles last Saturday. You are welcome to join us anytime.

You are welcome to join us anytime. Sorry to hear about Minta straining her arch, I pray for her speedy recovery. I'm also happy about her dropping down to the 800 and 1600, my events in high school (when coach wasn't making me run the mile relay). Sorry, but no can do on the marathon training. I'm slowly trying to get back into the jogging and right now, I'm woefully out of shape. Had back surgery a few years back and the fear of re-injury kept me from running like I should have. It's been an obstacle that I've been trying to overcome, but mentally I just haven't been able to string enough days together to do anything. The first jarring feeling that I experience, I shut it down...almost for months at a time. Right now, I'm not the same mentally strong person that I was the last time you saw me... But I am working on it.
