Versatile senior quarterback Aaron Johnson, who led Longview to its second consecutive trip to the Class 4A Division I state championship game, was named Most Valuable Player on the 2009 District 13-4A All-District Football Team.

 

The team was selected by the league coaches today.

 

Other superlative honors went to Lobo teammate Bubba Vactor (Defensive MVP), Texas High quarterback Nathan Sorenson (Offensive MVP), Sulphur Springs’ Kody Chester (offensive newcomer) and Marshall defensive lineman Jenson Jackson (defensive newcomer).

 

John King, who led Longview to a 14-2 record and a 6-0 mark in the district, was named coach of the year.

I agree. Impressive players on that list, but almost seems like everyone was nominated for all district and got in.

Yep, too many awards given these days just for showing up. The last time I checked it took 11 players (plus punter/kicker) to make up one side of the ball for a "team". There are 23 players listed on the 1st team offense which does not include the individual offensive/MVP award winners.

lol looks like they interpreted "all district team" as all of the players that played in district
