Killing deer!

I would rather see 4,000 deer killed than to see ONE human lose their life because an overpopulated area of deer has one wonder out in the road and cause an accident. People don't realize the damage these animals can cause if left unchecked. What if it's your kid that's on his way home from school right there and a deer wonder's out in front of him and he swerves to miss, hitting a school bus?

^Some places do - they call it 'ethnic cleansing'....... don't give Obama any ideas! Besides humans probably aren't as tasty as venison.

They could call it Soylent Green.

It bugs me when people try to make laws that only help about 15 % of a community. I wonder who these animal activist are. I have to agree with Five0.

Economic conditions could help lower the population of deer as was the case in the great depression. An older couple I knew in Parker County told me once that during the depression years in the 30's one rarely saw a white tail deer in Parker County. They are everywhere now of course.

Was this before or after immigration?... :icon_eek:

My ex used to say their dogs used to go missing whenever a certain group of folks moved in next to them...lol

The most dead deer I have seen along a public highway is along Hwy 281 between Hamilton , Tx and Lampasas. I frequented that stretch of road quite often in years past. Traffic congestion on I-35 between Ft. Worth and Austin has resulted in an enormous increase of vehicular traffic on Hwy 281. Though not a "scientific" count I once counted 37 dead deer in a one mile stretch of Hwy 281 between Evant and Adamsville. The vultures are well fed.

During the Great Depression they also sold rabbits and deer in the grocery stores of East Texas. I've heard that in Detroit they are selling racoon meat in some of the neighborhoods. Here's the video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsrwDl-SxSc Here's the article : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsrwDl-SxSc I actually read about this in The Rolling Stone first.
