Pops Posted May 14, 2010 Share Posted May 14, 2010 Gilly pitched for PG did a good job was relieved in the 6th by 3rd baseman I was impressed with the freshman pitcher from Farmersville, the Farmers just had too many errors....6 You gotta beat PG they will not beat themselves and 6 errors won't get you a ''W'' against the Hawks...... Farmersville started off OK, and their freshman starter did a great job, but 6 errors will not get a "W"against PG. Hopefully Channel 3 got a shot of their right fielder making a sensational grab in the second innning for a 3 up 3 down fly ball inning. Throwing errors and booted ballz were too many too recover from. They hit well, but the Hawks stranded a lot of runners for them with good "D". The lone run came in late in the 7th, and the game ended shortly after. Let's go in two, Hawks! Girls with Prom dresses need escorts for Saturday, so even more incentive to win! Good to put a name to the face for a fellow Smoakster. The freshman WAS impressive. I imagine they'll start Mr Brooks tomorrow at home, and someone else can cover behind the plate. They have a team that can do it, but they have to play error free. No telling who will start for the Hawks, I might save Phillips, and trust the defense to do as well as they have, and back up whoever does pitch. Let them hit, the other 8 are doing their job! I hope we can get it together tonight and pull out a win and force a 3rd game. Hopefully the game does not get rained out as I think they are anticipating some stormy weather this evening in this area. Travel safe to and from the game. Pops Posted May 15, 2010 Share Posted May 15, 2010 Game 2 of the Pleasant Grove-Farmersville Class 3A area baseball series set for Farmersville was originally relocated to Paris Junior College then postponed until today at noon at Prosper High School. Should a third game be needed (the Hawks hold a 1-0 lead in the series) it will be played 30 minutes after the completion of the noon game. I don't see any reason why you guys can't compete for a state title this year. Didn't get the chance to go to the second game, but I heard you guys absolutely dominated us! Congrats and good luck on the remainder of the season. For the graduating seniors at Farmersville...hold your head high guys! You guys had one heck of a four year run!
