I just hope that Dez does not turn out to be a prima donna from hades.

By the way let us get rid of the real distraction Marceles Bennet, what a waste.

I can defintely agree with this statement. MartyB has shown pretty much nothing so far. Tons of talent but lacking in some other critical areas.

Does a prima donna expect someone to carry his pads?

Time for some of these coddled people to put on their big boy panties and stop playing high school hazing games.

Fact...... All teams have this going on. Lighten up, it's all in fun. You and the media are the only ones taking it serious. Of course your disdain for RW has a little to do with your comments.

What I hate is that as an Ex, RW is making THE UNIVERSITY look bad by this bullying junk.

Hazing is wrong on any level, and if all teams have it going on all teams are wrong.

Like I said lighten up! Here is a classic example of adult athletes having fun with each other. Dez could learn a thing here. And so could you.

When Mike Ditka coached the Saints back in 1998 he may have let some pranks go a little too far. Not one, but two players were injured during a hazing incident. On the final night of camp the Vets forced the rookies to run the gauntlet. They were kicked, elbowed and hit with bags filled of coins as they made their way through.Rookie Tight End Cam Cleeland got smacked in the left eye and had to go to get a CAT scan. He even had to go to an eye specialist to make sure everything was alright. During the same night, rookie DT Jeff Danish put his hand through a window after the gauntlet. Danish went on to sue the Saints, six players and an assistant coach for assault, which was settled out of court.

I understand your showing extreme examples of hazing. That's like saying everyone that drives a car will be in a horrendous wreck. It just don't happen. People do have some common sense and the majority will not go to the extremes your showing examples of.

I'm wondering what could go wrong with Dez carrying RW's pads. Maybe he would get overloaded from carrying the shear weight of a "Pro's" pads? I would hate for him to strain himself.

Drew Pearson hurt himself just spiking the ball once.

Which Cowboy was it the hurt another player with scissors during a hazing event in the 90's?

It is not right to bully people. PERIOD.

Accidents do happen. Scissors can be dangerous if not in a professionals hands. I guess I don't remember anyone making Drew spike the ball. Must be some sort of hazing I did not know about.

You must have been picked on a lot during your school days. I'm sorry if you were. But in reality these men are just playing and it's not bullying. Dez turned down RW. If RW was a bully then there would have been a fight most likely. Now Dez has to deal with being labeled a prima-donna rookie.

During school days? Heck, I'm picked on a lot on here NOW.

Point about Drew was accidents happen. Would you all be so cavalier about it if Dez reached down to pick up Roys pads and pulled a muscle? Tweaked a knee?

To Roy's credit, he didn't force the issue. But this hazing of others is wrong. Period.

Roy isn't embarrasing anyone, especially not the University of Texas. He's also not "bullying" anyone. Those are ridiculous claims and comments.

If people can't take little hazing, then they are taking themselves and life WAY TO SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree about the extreme hazing, that is extremely stupid and dangerous. Some of the clips I've seen of some of that type hazing, wheather related to sports or in a frat/sorority house is extremely stupid. I hardly think you can include having someone carry your shoulder pads or getting a funky haircut by your new teammates can be included in that.

Relax people, its all in good fun. No one has been even slightly injured, except for there fragile feelings.

Some of the hazing the Cowboys do is having players dance or sing in front of all of the players. Not to mention fetching water for certain players or coaches. I remember Michael being involved in the scissors but I had forgotten just what it was about.

I know we've just about beat this subject to death. I'm ready to give up on it.

What if Dez picked up his own pads and pulled a muscle? Are you Dez's Daddy? You sure care for him an awful lot. Some people do in fact go too far, but c'mon, he was asked to carry pads. Should the team be arrested for extorsion(sp?) for having Dez buy lunch.

Hazing is wrong, whether it's carrying someone's pads or not
