scottmyers39
He was known as Skandar Akbar, but his real name was Jimmy Saied Wehba. Saw his obit in the Dallas Morning News on Friday. I wonder if anyone remembers his antics and his "Devastation Incorproated" wresting team. Scott

DaveTV1
Flames to the face. I'll always remember Skandar as a wrestler and the manager of Kamala the Ugandan Warrior.
camuchs
Funny how some people thought he was really from the Middle East when he was born in Texas. Wasn't Kamala really from South Louisiana or Mississppi? :hmm:
scottmyers39
That would be a great trivia question. Maybe Wikipedia might have something about that.

DaveTV1
Kamala's real name is James Harris and he is from either Louisiana or Mississppi - can't remember which. He was from Mississippi. I looked it up : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0962220/ That was about the time that I stopped watching wrasslin'. I remember Skandar as a good showman for kid's. Wrestling is a circus, and it still is today. I have fond memories of watching Skandar as a villain. He played his role well.
68Hornet
I remember seeing Skandar on TV in the 1960s and he never spoke a word of English. Then I met him in person at Louisiana Downs and he spoke better English than I do.
