Dear Membership,

 

Following this busy weekend commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11 as well as kicking off the NFL regular season as well as even more high school and college football, I would be remiss if I didn't thank the loyal followers of Smoaky.com.

 

All 22,000+ of you. In less than a decade, we have compiled nearly 1.5-million posts before our annual pruning of the website.

 

Yes, some of you have forced me to double my daily dose of Prilosec, but the majority of you have been fantastic.

 

This has been a special weekend for my family and friends and in many ways, I could consider you members of our family as well. I thank those that have shown support for my family and myself over the last two years, you know who you are.

 

I also want to say that when the going gets tough you find out who your true friends are and who will help you out in a bind or give you that little bit of reassurance or push of confidence to help you make it through another day.

 

And, that's the beauty of life, and a new beginning in life is about to begin.
