shoelessjoelives
October 8, 1956 will always be remembered in baseball lore as the day that Don Larsen did something nobody had ever done and probably will never do again. Larsen pitched a "perfect game" and it was in the World Series. Talk about being the being perfect on the games biggest stage, Larsen will be forever linked to that moment !! shoelessjoelives
In fact the Dodgers lineup that day was full of All-Star talent. Gilliam, Reese, Snider, Robinson, Amoros, Furillo, Campanella and Hodges all had All-Star talent.
Ratface
In fact the Dodgers lineup that day was full of All-Star talent. Gilliam, Reese, Snider, Robinson, Amoros, Furillo, Campanella and Hodges all had All-Star talent. Wasn't it Dale Mitchell, who would own the consecutive games with a home run record up until Mattingly in '87, who struck out on a check swing to end Larsen's perfecto? I love the image of Berra leaping into the arms of Larsen after the K.
Ratface
It was actually Dale Long's consecutive games with a home run record.
