defensiveminded
Is Greenville considered East Texas? With all the openings in 4A/5A I would think some schools will be coming to East Texas looking for new coaches.
Winona
Where is Mike Owens Owens resigned/retired last spring with the hope of doing the retire/re-hire thing but they did not re-hire him. Huffstickler was appointed Interim Head Coach and has been the coach this season.

Dentonite
The Denton school district confirmed Wednesday that Denton High School head football coach Randy Patzkowski has submitted his resignation Denton High has excellent athletic facilities but has had issues keeping itsfootball athletes. There is a promising future for the program as D.I.S.D. re-districts some students from Guyer and Ryan into Dentons zone.
PelvisPresley
Any truth to the rumor that Coach Traylor put his house on the market because he is going to Lee? I haven't heard that, but wouldn't be shocked that Traylor was the target of Lee and the reason Owens wasn't brought back. It has been talked about for years that Lee would be a possible for him as Jordan graduated. With the $ he makes in Gilmer and the status he holds, it would be difficult to see another school pull him away from GHS. Things are pretty well in place for success to continue for a long, long time.

Guess it depends on whether he wants to continue in a town of less than 5,000 - Or see if he has what it takes to play with the Big Boys.

With all the openings in 4A/5A I would think some schools will be coming to East Texas looking for new coaches. Greenville might be an even worse situation now...Rubbermaid plant is closing and losing 800 employees.

Well he is from the little town of 5000...and let's get serious (as someone that coached)...your goal is to be a success, period. When you are making plenty $$...and the person we're talking about is...and you are treated well...and he is...at some point you realize you have it pretty good. You realize there isn't a gold rung anywhere you'd rather be. I think Todd Dodge's fiasco moving from SLC to "the big boys" opened appropriate eyes as to what may or may not be important. Not only did that blow up him, but his son, etc. What a nightmare.

scottmyers39
Are you sure about the Terrell job opening up? I checked both Texas Football and the Terrell newspaper online and haven't found any story saying Darrell Jordan resigned. Scott
imyamama
I just seen the LE job posted on their website. Who do you think are the front runners? The program has many good young players. With the right coach, I believe the Leopards could make a deep run in next years playoffs.

An old story...a friend of mine was on the School Board when Jeff was hired...I asked him why Jeff...said that in the interview process, he asked Jeff what his long range plans were...Jeff said to watch his grandkids play football on a field that was named after him...both are very possible.
