hoosierdady
Found this on texas 2a football...... not sure who did it or how he made predictions but it gives us something to talk about. NUMBERS: DIV 1: 440-291 DIV 2: 290-197 Reason for numbers: ( Trying to think like a UIL offical ) THE BOTTOM NUMBER: There would have been around 18 teams that would have left 2A to 1A if the number stayed at 200. That would have been 3 entire six team districts going to 1A. That is way too many. So I dropped the number to 197. That stills gives 1A a net gain of 5 to 10 teams. This will suprise some schools who thought they would be moving down to 1A. Also, this will totally suprise a couple of last years 1A teams that thought since they turned an enrollment of just less than 200. They find themselves in 2A Div 2 in football. THE TOP NUMBER: With all the teams dropping to 1A I raised the top number by 10. Even though it is an increase by 10, but that would only drop a few teams from 3A to 2A. I expect 3A to have a large net growth of teams this year. 3A does have enough room to add these schools. This is my first year to do a mock realignment of any classification. Never will I be critical of the UIL again on realignment. You have to make decisions that are going to make people unhappy. These were the hardest part of this " Class 2A Mock Realigment" 1. Where do you put Deweyville ? 2. Who do you put with Alpine ? 3. So many 2A schools in the box formed by the towns of Paris, Texarkana, Tyler, Longview. 4. Do I leave districts with 5 teams or make an odd town drive a long distance to make 6 teams. Even though that makes this town drive away from a closer district to even out another district. These are the similar type of decisions that UIL has to deal with in all classification. There are a few five team districts. The UIL has done it in 3A and 1A. I wish I had all the enrollment numbers of all schools, It would be more accurate. I did use a state map on this. DIVISION 1 DISTRICT 1 1. AMAR. RIVER ROAD 2. BUSHLAND 3. FRIONA 4. IDALOU 5. hitorbhit2
Idk about Dekalb...aren't they losing 18 Srs.? and they didn't have a jv D-2 district 6.. Cooper, dekalb, & Hughes springs would be the playoff teams.. Clarksville may be in the mix to tho, not sure how many they are returning..
eagle34
Why do you have New Diana in District 8 instead of Harmony? Doesn't make any sense. Harmony is 15 miles from Quitman, 20 miles from Winnsboro, 25 miles from Mineola, etc. New Diana isn't even close to these schools.

Winnsboro, Quitman and Mineola had Melissa for the past 2 years with Harmony still that close.
yoemama
This would horrible for Cameron Yoe. Driving to Grandview, Godley, Clifton??? Why would they move Little River Academy and Florence out of our district. Obviously whoever did this must not really know where Cameron is. I googled Grandview and it said it would take us 7 hours to get there.
flukeshot
I googled Grandview and it said it would take us 7 hours to get there. Those sites are always conservative on the time estimates. I bet y'all could make it in 6, 6 and a half, tops.
Yoe09
It is the other Grandview, in Johnson County I believe. Overall I just think D5 is too brutal considering how much each team would have to travel. I could see a 5 team district: Cameron Yoe, Troy, McGregor, Florence, and Academy. I could possibly see a Clifton & Whitney coming in, but Grandview & Godley are some road trips for district. It all really depends on what the # is as well. There is a chance that Salado could drop down if the top 2A would go up 14. I have heard schools like Franklin and Groesbeck could be possibilities depending on what their numbers where. I have also heard that Hempstead could be a possibility but it is all speculation at this point. Cameron/Godley 137 miles Troy/Godley 110 miles McGregor/Godley 88 miles Cameron/Grandview 105 miles Troy/Grandview 78 miles McGreogr/Grandview 73 miles Cameron/Clifton 82 miles Troy/Clifton 56 miles McGregor/Clifton 27 miles Cameron/Whitney 93 miles Troy/Whitney 66 miles McGreogr/Whitney 41 miles
BigRedFan
My idea district would be move Quitman to a district with Edgewood and have the Winnsboro district as follows: Mount Vernon White Oak Harmony Sabine Winnsboro Jefferson Admin. My idea regarding Quitman would not work because Edgewood is division 2. Put them in the district with some of the western teams.
NewtonNation
I would not be surprised if Newton drops to div. 2. We turned in 311 on the last alignment, but we have a small class of about 40 kids that has come up since then. We will see.

Coach0001
District 11 Malakoff to New Waverly 146 miles District 6 teams Malakoff to Eustace 10 miles Malakoff to Kemp 22 miles I would hope if one district was 7 teams that we would be in District 6 rather than
