et_football
How do you put Big Sandy and Winona in a district together and then place Hawkins in with the Paris area schools? Put Hawkins in district 9 in place of ore city.
Yoe09
Newton should go to 2 if predictions and calculations from inside source stay true You think? From all that I have heard the # may stay down in the 290-295 range, but as I have said before, anything can happen with the UIL.
sackem
How many of you think the cutoff for 2a could get as high as 450. That would not be good for crockett
EFCLASSOF89
Found this on texas 2a football...... not sure who did it or how he made predictions but it gives us something to talk about. NUMBERS: DIV 1: 440-291 DIV 2: 290-197 Reason for numbers: ( Trying to think like a UIL offical ) THE BOTTOM NUMBER: There would have been around 18 teams that would have left 2A to 1A if the number stayed at 200. That would have been 3 entire six team districts going to 1A. That is way too many. So I dropped the number to 197. That stills gives 1A a net gain of 5 to 10 teams. This will suprise some schools who thought they would be moving down to 1A. Also, this will totally suprise a couple of last years 1A teams that thought since they turned an enrollment of just less than 200. They find themselves in 2A Div 2 in football. THE TOP NUMBER: With all the teams dropping to 1A I raised the top number by 10. Even though it is an increase by 10, but that would only drop a few teams from 3A to 2A. I expect 3A to have a large net growth of teams this year. 3A does have enough room to add these schools. This is my first year to do a mock realignment of any classification. Never will I be critical of the UIL again on realignment. You have to make decisions that are going to make people unhappy. These were the hardest part of this " Class 2A Mock Realigment" 1. Where do you put Deweyville ? 2. Who do you put with Alpine ? 3. So many 2A schools in the box formed by the towns of Paris, Texarkana, Tyler, Longview. 4. Do I leave districts with 5 teams or make an odd town drive a long distance to make 6 teams. Even though that makes this town drive away from a closer district to even out another district. These are the similar type of decisions that UIL has to deal with in all classification. There are a few five team districts. The UIL has done it in 3A and 1A. I wish I had all the enrollment numbers of all schools, It would be more accurate. I did use a state map on this. DIVISION 1 DISTRICT 1 1. AMAR. RIVER ROAD 2. BUSHLAND 3. FRIONA 4. IDALOU 5. SteelJacket
Division 1 District 10 makes no sense You are right, anyway EF turned in 289.5 and even by the numbers used here they would still be Divison II. On another thread someone predicted our district staying the same except for New Diana replacing Harleton (both who will be dropping down most likely). That seems to make a lot of since.
