Hayseed
I usually grow pinto beans and either ,annual rye grass, or winter wheat. However, this year i'm leaning towards soy beans, rye grass and clover. I've kinda been studying up on this but i'm by no means a seasoned expert! Doomer says he does ok growing a massive field of corn but that seems wasteful and it would be all dead,i believe, by the peak of the rut.
KirtFalcon
Rye grass has very little nutritional value. If you can get a good stand of clover started, it will return every year. Various vetchs, beans, peas, sorghums, millets, winter wheats are also good choices. It could get expensaive, but a year round program is best instead of planting a couple months before hunting season like a lot of people do.
