runnerman Posted September 4, 2012 Share Posted September 4, 2012 HAWKINS INVITATIONAL T.K. Gorman’s girls and Grand Saline’s boys took top honors on Saturday at the Hawkins Invitational. T.K. Gorman had 24 points, followed by Harmony (70), Hawkins (78), North Hopkins (110), Winona (157), Grand Saline (161), Edgewood (167) and Quitman (185) for the girls. Sharon Kariampuzna (13:19), Jordan Schnick (13:38) and Kelly Frossard (13:56) gave T.K. Gorman the top three individual spots. Sarah Hill of Harmony (13:56), Stephanie Gamez (13:58) and Samantha Gamez (14:01) of North Hopkins finished fifth and sixth. Kelly O’Neill of T.K. Gorman (14:10) was seventh, Bre Lemons of Hawkins (14:22) eighth, Hannah Chandler of Grand Saline (14:25) ninth and Kate Russell of All Saints (14:27) tenth. For the boys, Grand Saline had 54 points, followed by T.K. Gorman (68), New Summerfield (122), All Saints (123), Mineola (125), Quitman (140), North Hopkins (145), Edgewood (158) and Harmony (196). Hunter Fair of Hawkins had the top overall time of 16:59. He was followed by Trent Phelps (17:03) and Matt Moreno (18:07) of Grand Saline, Luis Osornio of Cumby (18:51), Chance Findlay (18:56) and Nick DiPaolo (18:58) of T.K. Gorman, Vincent Easley of Grand Saline (19:08), Marcos Osornio of Cumby (19:08), Collin Jayroe of Edgewood (19:46) and Freddy Hernandez of New Summerfield (19:58) in the top 10. In the JV divisions, Hawkins’ girls and Gilmer’s boys earned team titles. In the junior high divisions, Gilmer’s boys and T.K. Gorman’s girls were the champions. From Longview News Journal...
