Adam Kirby has resigned as the head football coach at Chester High School.

Kirby was given the ultimatum by his superintendent to resign or be reassigned to a cafeteria worker or custodian. Kirby was initially reassigned, but resigned this week.

Interim head coach Chris Fudge was on the sideline during Chester's 71-25 loss to Oakwood, and he will also serve as the head coach in Chester's final game this Friday against High Island.

Kirby told me, "I'm just so disappointed because we are trying to do it right, we've been able to compete better this season with only six players than they did a year ago with more than twice as many."
