LoboFan07
If this year's Wildcats put up even 40 ppg on the district that the State Champion Wildcats did, then I would think they have a legit shot at making it all the way. Could still see them making a run for it, but don't think they'll get there.
bordertown
I suggest you take a look at the other side of the ball. While wish the Wildcats the best in the playoffs, I don't think the have the defense. I think they are giving up about 36 points per game.
flukeshot
I suppose you never know. I mean I wouldn't bet on it but the championship team didn't have a great defense either and I don't think anyone was really predicting a state title run for them as the playoffs began. LoboFan07
They also were coming off blow out losses to Longview and Texas High. I think a lot of people thought it was possible though.
KildogDad
The way SS offense scores, their D only needs a few stops per game.

franksnbeans
Whitehouse - Sulphur Springs rematch will be a good one if it happens.
sscats2006
With most of the team returning next season, I think we will have a better shot then. We have a pretty young team, lots of these kids have never played in the playoffs before. Lets just take it one game at a time.
wildtigers
Whitehouse - Sulphur Springs rematch will be a good one if it happens. Yes that will be a very hard weekend to choose games. I hope this game and the Daingerfield game are on different days.

By the way your talking it looks like the SS/MP rivalry is going to get back to the way it was in the 90s. These next few years should be really good for those two programs. The Real Mavfan
After seeing them last night, their offense is everything that is is billed to be. Almost unstoppable and can score in bunches. BUT if Marshall can put up 35 points on them, that tells me their defense is well below par. We were able to run on them almost at will (cant explain why in the world we stopped trying so early) and could have put up even more if not for a couple of special teams turnovers. They will be tough to beat but I just dont see them winning a championship with that defense. Somebody is going to be able to slow them down just enough or force a few turnovers to outscore them. Just my opinion but I do wish them the best of luck to represent the district and east texas!

Heard all of the same things in 2009 and yet they just made a few stops and outscored everyone in the playoffs.
sscats2006
Gotta give this young team a ton of credit though. They are just a mere 10 points total short of being 10-0.
GloryBound
No. Good offense, no defense, but still NO.
wildcats16SS
we gave up 49 in the state championship game. its hard to judge a defense on a team that scores as quickly as the wildcats do simply because theyre on the field so much more than most other teams. budmanmpfan
Here's the problem y'all might put up 48 a game but your rivals down I30 put up over 54 pts a game. And there defense has gotten better since they played SS. Just ask PT and Marshall which defense is better.
Aggie98
The '09 SS team defied the Golden Rule of football.
McLovin
Remind me of the Oregon ducks. Lol. High power offense but a awful defense. Rely on outscoring the opponent. It works sometimes tho who knows!

WildcatsRule
Sure. They have a shot, but I would not consider them a favorite to win it all. Just like anyone else, they will need luck and exceptional play from the qb.
