District MVP.Defensive Player of the Year:Tyus Bowser, 6-3, 230, Sr., DE, John Tyler, 59-Tackles, 26-Sacks, 2-CF, 1-PBU.Lineman of the Year:Syd Moore, 6-1, 265, Sr., DT, Van, 102-Tackles, 8-Sacks, 2-CF, District Defensive MVP.Heart and Soul Award:Patrick “Monsta” Brown, 5-10, 180, Sr., RB/QB/ATH, Henderson, 183-carries for 1,435-yards and 19-TD’s, 20-catches for 342-yards, 3-TD’s, 37-58 passing for 602-yards and 3-TD’s, 1-Interception. Newcomer of the Year: Although Whitehouse junior Patrick Mahomes played defensive back as a sophomore, he exploded onto the scene with a tremendous performance on offense and at quarterback in 2012. Mahomes, 6-2, 185, Jr., completed 193-340 passes for 3,061-yards, 37-TD's, 2-2XP, while also rushing for 6-TD's. Coach of the Year:Terry Ward, Head Coach, Tenaha, took a team with one senior starter returning from a Class 1-A, Division II State Championship. Ward's Tigers began the season with a 2-4 record, but rebounded to win nine consecutive games to reach the Class 1-A, Division II State Championship, falling to Munday, 42-14.
