80th Anniversary of Hitler's Rise: Have We Learned ANYTHING at all From This?

I tend to think it was a little farther along than the start at that point and I was thinking of 3 different initials - FDR

FDR actually implemented many of the social programs that Hilter championed but never saw to fruition. We have been on the road to serfdom for a while, in the slow lane.

I was thinking more along the lines of totalitarian fascism beginning under LGB, but you are correct that FDR started a lot of it.....there was a fascist coup plot during FDR's administration which was foiled before it could come about.....so he wasn't a friend to fascism, only socialism.......and socialism was introduced by that great dimocrat woodrow wilson......

Some of the key members of the failed coup:

* Irenee Du Pont - Right-wing chemical industrialist and founder of the American Liberty League, the organization assigned to execute the plot.

* Grayson Murphy - Director of Goodyear, Bethlehem Steel and a group of J.P. Morgan banks.

* William Doyle - Former state commander of the American Legion and a central plotter of the coup.

* John Davis - Former Democratic presidential candidate and a senior attorney for J.P. Morgan.

* Al Smith - Roosevelt's bitter political foe from New York. Smith was a former governor of New York and a co-director of the American Liberty League.

* John J. Raskob - A high-ranking Du Pont officer and a former chairman of the Democratic Party. In later decades, Raskob would become a "Knight of Malta," a Roman Catholic Religious Order with a high percentage of CIA spies, including CIA Directors William Casey, William Colby and John McCone.

* Robert Clark - One of Wall Street's richest bankers and stockbrokers.

* Gerald MacGuire - Bond salesman for Clark, and a former commander of the Connecticut American Legion. MacGuire was the key recruiter to General Butler.

I agree we are on that road. I think we are moving quickly to the fast lane though. Who do you think will be the next "group" choosen this time? Jews last time. Who this time around? Will it be the last who believe and know what the founding fathers wanted? It is going to happen.

I know I'll probably be one of the first, but it won't be in a gas chamber.....I'll go down fully exercising my SECOND AMENDMENT rights and I'll damn sure take a few of them with me.......

 did anyone notice that 2 of the plotter were dims???? Members of FDR's own party......

Politicians that look like theirs, too......

Indeed. I believe the U.S. in many ways envied the Germans early advancements. Project Paperclip I believe it was brought some of the best German scientist to the U.S. after WWII. Wernher Von Braun actually made one of our first rockets. Out of his work making rockets is how NASA came to be. There were two inventions that just so happened during this time that changed much about how we live, air conditioning and television.

Yep that's the one I was thinking - General Smedley Butler, the one who came forward and exposed the plot is the one I was talking about. For some reason I was thinking it was called something like the "Business Plot".

I often wonder if the German people were as clueless as our American society is today. Clueless defined as being apathetic to government policies and decisions that truly change the American way of life. So many Americans have no clue, nor interest in anything outside of what Honey Boo Boo or what ever other ridiculous celebrity is doing or anything outside their small little bubble of life. Whatever the cause, whether it is work, family, or relationship issues that have so many distracted, it is beyond ridiculous. So many have the opinion of it doesn't matter what I do, I'm not going to change anything and the other vast majority is of the opinion that, I don't care as long as the government money keeps rolling in. If so many continue to be apathetic, I see very bad things in the future for our beloved country.

Do you think it was just a coincidence that FDR and Hitler were leaders of their country from 1933 to 1945? Both died in 1945.

...and the government just seemed to forget that he used concentration camp slave labor in his work in Germany during the war....

What some have been saying but hey, the Super Bowl is tomorrow.

He, he, be careful if in Tarrant County for a Super Bowl party. Law enforcement has those warrants on hand to draw blood if refusing a breath test just like during the holiday celebrations.

Can't get rid of the NAZI's even now......

That's how the REAL powers that be work.....straight from Hegel.....thesis vs. anti-thesis = synthesis.....they force opposites against one another and both eventually become more like the other.....it's how they have been trying to control us for centuries......

A good example....If my idea of freedom (thesis) is in conflict with your idea of freedom (anti-thesis, then neither one of us is free until everyone agrees to be a slave (synthesis)......
