JTFAN99
Why? we have a population of about 35,000 and a lot of places are closing down. well Lufkin seems like it has some growth on the Southside of town (around the Mall area). And Lufkin has historically stayed above 2200 (and above 2300 for about a 5 yrs in the mid 2000's) I just figured Lufkin would stay at least around 2200. But that Piney Woods Charter school is growing. Its up to like 140 students. And its growing. Also Hudson enrollment has increased about 100 students in the last 5 yrs. So I guess Lufkin was going to drop. I just thought there was enough growth in town keep the number about the same.
budmanmpfan
Longview may not align with JT or Lufkin. Long Marshall PT Hallsville Texas High MP Might be it. You left off SS. LoboFan07
Any way the 6A cutoff number is closer to 2000? Just a thought. The more schools, easier to align districts, and less travel. No. It'll be well over 2100.

Hallsville without a doubt will be in the same district as Longview, PT, and Marshall. And you can throw in Mt.Pleasant and THigh. Lufkin may go south with Livingston and etc.. JTFAN99
No. It'll be well over 2100. thats possible, but I think it all depends on the enrollment of the 245th largest school. What ever that is, will be number But I guess that can be a little different depending on how many schools from large districts opt to play up. WP4L
Uh.... Coach Holmes has stated many times that he wants to play Longview. Go watch the Coach's corner show, He said it on there. JT has never dodged Longview. Longview enrollment is about what I expected. I didn't think they would stay with the big boys. If he really wanted to..it would've happened. King dang sure wouldn't turn down that matchup. And I dunno why you would expect Longview's enrollment to be that low when we were over 2200 a year ago. The there was the whole article about LISD's growth. There was absolutely no evidence to suggest Longview's enrollment would be this low.

But if we were to go by 245 schools, you'd have to look at who's moving up thus far...and there's plenty of em. Summer Creek turned in 2410 Friendswood turned in 2157 Guyer turned in 2289 (or 2291..conflicting reports) Wolfforth Frenship turned in 2178 etc. Think we've seen more move ups than move downs this far.
