514
Well we layed an egg last night - 8 errors - But give Central their dues - They came wanting to win. They are a very well coached team and hit the ball well. Hats off to Hudson sophmore Simone Berryhill. 6th and 7th innings were first innings she pitched since pulling hamstring in Nacogdoches tournament. Good to here your daughter is doing ok Mr. Berryhill. Goodluck from Coach Reed.

softballman
Standings as of 4-9 Huntington 9-1 Hudson 7-2 Carthage 6-3 Central 6-4 Jasper 3-6 Diboll 1-8 Center 1-9 I went to Hudson last night and witnessed a great game by the Hornets!! They came ready to play and it showed in the early innings vs Erica Wright. In the first inning, KK Parker hit a 2 run homer and another run in the 3rd, then 3 more in the 5th. Hudson made some outstanding defensive plays to keep Huntington at bay. This wins keeps Hudson in a secure spot for the 2nd place, but will have 3 tough games left. Should be interesting!!! osup116
Looks Like Playoff picture is set. With 2nd and Third being decided on Tuesday. Spent a Little time on UIL site playing what if Saturday. Hunnington will end up with LaGrange in their Bracket. Carthage and Hudson will be in same Bracket no matter the outcome on Tuesday and will likely meet in the third round. Wouldn't the third place team be on the same side of the bracket as Huntington, with the second place team going to the other side of the bracket? softballman
The 1st and 4th are on the same side of the bracket and could meet in round 3. 2nd and 3rd are on the same side and could meet in round 3 as well. 1st and 4th are pretty much settled for this district. 2nd and 3rd have a lot to do with what happens tonight in Hudson. If Hudson wins, they will be 2nd and Carthage 3rd. If Carthage wins, then it boils down to the last game of the year. Which is Hudson and Central....Carthage and Diboll. Whoever wins the last round gets 2nd..If they both win, they will either flip or play another game for 2nd and 3rd.
gametime8
The winner and 4th place of this district "should" meet up in the quarterfinals. The 2nd place team will have to face the champion of the West, Lorena, Robinson district...which is always good! The 3rd place team will have to play Caldwell, which is in the top 5 in state right now and like 25-2. But it will be nothing that they haven't already faced. This is "IF" they win their 1st round game. I think the toughest game should be Central playing Rusk in the 1st round. Everyone else should run rule that district!! My prediction is the winner of this district, should be playing in the Regional Finals! Its just who they will be playing from the bottom half. Caldwell, Lorena, West, Robinson, Carthage, Hudson, Orangefield or Huffman Hargrove?? Pretty much the best of the best at the bottom half of this bracket!! The top half won't have much to challenge Huntington, if Central had a pitcher I would say they beat Huntington. Just MY OPINION

osup116
^ I must have been looking at it wrong - I thought bottom half had teams from 17 18 19 & 20. With Top half having Lagrange and Caldwell there. Will have to revisit later.

osup116
This district has been everything it was billed to be. Any of the top four will be hard to beat in playoffs With Jasper, Diboll, and Center being contenders if they were in any other district. Hats off to all the teams. I have seen some great softball this year. My only wish would be that Central had their pitcher this year. Have heard great things about her.
