THSfanatic
Wow. Was struck by Greenville's lack of participation. Doesn't look good for them at all
LoboFan07
Wow. Was struck by Greenville's lack of participation. Doesn't look good for them at all Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that. That's terrifying if they're bad (which they are) plus not even physically prepared. I imagine there will be a lot of running clocks in their future.

Mavchamp
Here is a link to all the preseason articles done by the Marshall News Messenger over the summer. http://www.marshallmavericks.net/#!news/c1aog Some good reads there. And some great catch up articles with former QB David Haynes and Super Bowl champ Terrance Shaw. ------------- I'll see about getting numbers for the varsity and JV camp. But someone reported we had about 60 freshmen show up yesterday for their camp. I'll see what JV and varsity had tonight (hopefully) Varsity is practicing at night under the lights at Maverick Stadium. Starts at 7PM. Goes until 9 or 10... I can't recall. I'm going to try and make it tonight.
thstiger1997
First year in a long time not up to speed on Texas high. Qb looks like biggest question. Doesn't even look like they are having a scrimmage. Past few years tx and pg where having one for charity but that looks like it got scratch for some reason. budmanmpfan
MP might surprise if players get into what the coaches are trying to teach them. These coaches are players from the McDaniel era so they are Tigers of the 90s. If the players listen then get ready district 15-5a

Since dropping to 4A.... I'd say Kilgore has been our biggest rival as far as competitiveness. We've split most of our games for the last 12 years. We were the top 2 dogs in the district more often than not. Decided district titles. OT games. And a couple of playoff games against each other too. But Hallsville is the game you do NOT want to lose. Historically Marshall has dominated the series until 2011. A good chunk of their roster are people that grew up in Marshall. So yeah. Familiarity breeds contempt. So I'd agree this is the game the Mavs DO NOT want to lose.
Hookemhorns88
Why do Marshall and Longview always talk (complain) about losing football players to Hallsville? Really? Think about it for a minute. Hallsville is not a football school to lose kids to. Baseball maybe, but certainly not football. Please stop it.

Hallsville is not a football school to lose kids to. Baseball maybe, but certainly not football. Please stop it. It's not complaining. It's fact. There are several players at Hallsville that went to grade school in Marshall. And Longview as well I'm sure. It's not a slam against Hallsville.... it just is what it is. Hookemhorns88
Yes, I remember him. I believe that he was a QB at Longview. We tried him a bit on offense as a RB. He saw very little playing time.

Dang 07 I wasn't gon say his name and throw him under the bus like that lol! BUT put it like this...I saw him try to complete a screen pass and bounced it at the Rb's feet so freakin hard the BB's damn near landed in the stands!
