This is, obviously, the Game of the Year in District 15-5A. These two juggernauts meet for the first time in many years (maybe ever?)...with plenty of bragging rights on the line.

For Greenville...they went into last offseason saddled with a 40-game losing streak. They'd love nothing better than to go into this offseason having reset the losing streak to Zero. (Obviously, Pine Tree wants the same thing for themselves.) The Lions only have three victories coming in to their season finale, but this has already been the most successful season of the decade for them. They have even managed to steal a district win to go along with two nondistrict victories. The Lions are trying for their first victory of the season over a team who comes into the contest with at least one win already.

For Pine Tree...honestly, I'm not too familiar with the Pirates or their recent history. They are currently 1-8 and also claim a district victory. It may not mean much to the rest of the district, but sixth place looks a whole lot better than seventh to Pine Tree (and Greenville.)

This clash of District 15-5A Superheavyweights is sure to be an instant classic.

After the last couple of years, I'm just looking forward to playing a Pirates team that's not named Wylie. :)

If it weren't for the small visitor's side...... Pine Tree has the best stadium in East Texas IMHO.

Greenville win easily.

We should start playing some of these in Lindale or Mineola. I can almost get there blindfolded by now. :) (just kidding)

And if it weren't for the parking situation there. Can't imagine trying to get out of there after a close, hard fought contest.

Greenville wins this by two scores.

Pine Tree played Greenville in 1984 and 1985 that I remember, and we lost both games. I don't know about the 90's-present. Greenville beats Pine Tree again.

I was there last year for the Kilgore-PT game..... it was a nightmare.

But yeah.... expand the visitor's side and add some parking..... and this is the premier high school stadium in East Texas hands down. IMHO.

Yep, that's about word-for-word the complaints about our Cotton Field as well. (No home side parking for us.) I don't expect that we'll need much space, though.

At least after the game, we can lift our unofficial weeklong ban on car air fresheners. :)

Looks like our chances are now greatly diminished tonight. We're down six players, including our two top running backs and a top WR. Off a roster that only runs about 40 to begin with, that's not a good sign.

Thanks. I got it figured it out. I turned where it said "Pine Tree Stadium." :)

You guys weren't kidding. This place is NICE. Plenty of parking for our small group as well.

Halftime (minus one second we should have had at the end): Pine Tree 11, Greenville 7.

Greenville comes back in the second half and wins it 21-11!!! We won four games this year! (Yes, that's a huge deal for us.)

We finally get to end a season with our old chant...
