Cowbells
I could be wrong about this but I think it's the first time Gilmer, Gladewater, and Union Grove are district champions in the same season. All being close on 271 is pretty cool. Their combined records were 29-1. Some good ball being played on that stretch of road. Congratulations to the teams. Good luck in the playoffs. TheFan
If that is true that all 3 won district at the same time ever, that's pretty cool.. probably is true since Gilmer/Gladewater are usually in the same district. As far as recruiting... geez.. gotta love the haters.. Always looking for an excuse to explain why you got beat.. I mean c'mon.. do you honestly believe that after years and years of "recruiting allegations" that the UIL has just turned its head away?? After every team or town calls in with a "tip", you really think that we haven't been examined with a magnifying glass???
sackem
Gilmer recruits though 3 DChamps, Being so close could be some of those recruits got mixed up and went to the wrong school. But more than likely it was just the ones transferring for athletic reasons, that missed the turn and didn't get to the school they intended to go to in the first place. Afterall some of those probably aren't too smart anyway.

Acewell
It's because Gladewater and Union Grove are feeder programs for some of the Gilmer recruits. The Gilmer recruiting officer tells them if they do well enough they will get to come to the main program their 5th year of High School. Also the East Texas passing and O-line Academy is nothing but a front for recruit evaluation and under the table deals. JUST KIDDING About the feeder programs anyway. Golfingnut
Can we QUIT turning every thread into a Gilmer recruiting thread!!!!!!! This is a legit thread that should shout the accomplishments of these three schools. Â CONGRATS to all three schools and good luck and success in the playoffs. It's a shame one of these schools will bow out in the 3rd round, but it is what it is. The price we pay here in Northeast Texas for having great teams that are in the same division and region. Â GO BEARS and LIONS!
Acewell
Congratulations to Gilmer Gladewater and Union Grove. I hope they keep winning in the playoffs. Athletes transfer to schools with good programs. No need to recruit.
