Not a whole lot has happened in Indian Country over the past few months except some stadium rennovations to the Fieldhouse and weight room/coaches office, does anybody have any idea how they are looking for next year or are we going to have 3 straight winless seasons?

82 to 91 they had some good winning teams according to Lone Star Football. Been kinda hit and miss since then

Lone Star football is awful and does not have the accurate statistics. From 82-03, GS's record was 180-75-2, with 18 playoff appearances, and 10 district titles, 9 seasons of 10 or more wins, and 5 regional finalist berths. That is a .700 winning percentage that was sustained for over 2 decades. Like someone said earlier, shame they were once stout and now they are not.

know a guy who got interviewed there

he was supt's pick

he was not the hs principal (assistant baseball johnny) pick

he was scared an emphasis on the entire program would hurt baseball, so they opted to go "another direction"

good move

selfishness kills all programs - even the ones people hang onto too tight

problem in GS is hometown boy - dude ain't old enough to drive anyways so why's he a principal

be a principal or be a coach - stop trying to hang onto both

That picture is from last year when the HS principal vol his time to help coach. He did not do that this year and we have a JV too. But let's get back on topic.

FB should be improved. Lost 3 Sr played. Kids are getting bigger and the athletic program is supported during building the program back.

I understand I have been updating Waskom scores on Lone Star for a while to make Waskom more accurate. Also updating other scores as I find them. Lone Star is quick to update if you can find the scores. The only archives of news papers I've been able to fine is the Panola Watchman and they had tons of scores in their sports page but you have to fall into that Panola County group or district with one of those teams.

What's wrong with their baseball program? From what I saw they had a really good year and played a great first round playoff series mostly with young talent from what I gather. Football will get better (it has too right?) but climbing the hill is not going to be easy. You just have to hope the coaches keep the kids interested during the transition period, I doubt they can afford to lose any, but kids want/need to win a little at some point no matter what sport is being played. Did their basketball team win much? Just wondering if its the overall sports in general or just football in a rut.

geesh......how much freakin time does this "good coach" need?

They are way way down I dont care if Tom Landry Chuck Knoll Bear Bryant and Bobby Bowden were on the staff they would not have been in the playoffs the past couple of years

Well until the "good coach" can run, tackle, pass and catch the football on Friday nights, I would suggest you give him at least several more years to see if he can turn the kids into skilled football players instead of average athlete's that play football which is what I've seen the past few years. I believe this starts in 7th & 8th grade, as well as a good off season & summer program, which lets hope he has already laid some of that ground work. It does sound to me as if you have some ax to grind either with the coach, his method of coaching or his hiring in general.....so what would you suggest be done???
