Have to use it as a confidence builder and stepping stone to keep improving. The test will be this week. Its homecoming, after a HUGE win, playing against a struggling team, with a showdown against Texas High for the district title looming. To us on the outside looking in we are just shaking our heads in disbelief. Congratulations to the Mavs. Man, I still get upset because I want my Lobos to win EVERY game. But, that's about as unrealistic as you will ever see me. Reality does finally sit in with me, on the otherhand. I am one of those Alumni that will leave the game prematurely if we're losing. I don't do it just because. I do it because it bothers me SO much to watch my team lose that I can't stand to sit and watch them get beat. I'm that child that always RESET the Nintendo game when I was losing. HATE TO LOSE-PERIOD. We all hate losing and we're usually at each other's throat due to a difference of opinion as to whose fault it is or who it isn't. I could only smile and laugh watching their fans storm the field and the players exuberance as the seconds ticked down. It was a good game and great win for Mavs. Now as for the bad for Lobos... 1. I have harped over this for past 7 or 8 years...the secondary as a whole(coaches and players) are below average at best. Mavs "big played" Lobos all night. 2. I was fooled by wat I saw in green/white game by Lobos Qb. Qb play is not good at crucial times. You can't win without good Qb play. 3. Wont say kids name but...#4 is pose to be Lobos #1 and I don't believe he caught a cold tonite. I think he has more drops than receptions. I'm with 07 as I have no expectations for this team. Well...only one and that's to find a different way to lose come playoff time. Again hats off to Mavs for finally beating up the neighborhood bully. Now, I am going to give the Mavs coaches and players their due respect also. That administration has turned it around and they don't play that good ole' boy system in Marshall and it's about to show big time. They went and got Lake Travis offensive coordinator, Kilgore College's former Head Coach, a no nonsense 100% Maverick from back in the day as head coach. The REAL Cancer is folks like y'all that baby kids and make excuses for EVERYTHING they do. Anytime someone makes a motion to correct some flaws in the system you want to holler out, "their just kids", "leave them alone". Man, some of these "kids" are 18 year old young adults already buying cigarettes and have kids of their own that their parents are raising. Keep on I got some more for you and anybody else. Like I've said before, I'll stand alone before I keep letting folks like you think you're going to hush-mouth me. Oh wait, I forgot. Y'all just do what you've been doing and sending PM's to the Admins to perform the censorship deal because you don't like what I'm saying. And, it ain't really that either. You are just mad that I'm shining light on it a pointing out the real. You'd rather for things to stay as they are and guess what, that's the way it's always going to be because we got too many people with personalized, platinum kneepads on in the administration and in the stands that don't care to see the program go further than what it is. And, like YC123 said, when we get championship talent. So, in some fairness to King, he ain't working with nothing. Now, I am going to say this. It DON'T take Championship Talent every year to win a State Championship. Sometimes, just SOMETIMES it takes a Championship Coach do take what he has and make it work. When you're lacking talent wise, you BETTER be completely and fundamentally DISCIPLINED to beat teams that are more talented than you are. It don't take an athlete to run a 4.3 forty yard dash to win on isolated coverages.
