The Dragons have clinched the district title. Brad48, CreasyBear, can one of you guys tell us how many years it's been. I know it's been a long time.

1982 was the last year Shelbyville won district going 8-2 on the year. Lester Belrose was the head coach. They beat Burkeville 28-0 the first game of the season and then lost to them in the Bi-District game. The current Shelbyville Middle school Principal was their top running back that year. If my math is correct that was 33 years ago.

Shelbyville was a pre district game but they were our only loss that year. I will never forget the score either 20 to 0. I will never forget that cable by the end zone either lol. Our only loss before playoffs that is.

Thanks, Brad. If memory serves me correctly, the last time the Dragons won a playoff game was 2001. They went 3 rounds deep and were eliminated by Mart.

The Dragons have been in the playoffs only 10 times in the last 65 years and have never made it past the second round. The 1953 team won their Class B Region but back then that's as far as Class B played.

1950 8-2-1 244- 97 Clinton Crisp District Champs Lost to Groveton 7-33 in Bi-District

1953 10-1-1 270- 32 Clinton Crisp District Champs, Defeated Sabine in Bi-District, Defeated Royse City in Regional This team stills holds the school record for fewest points allowed per game (2.7) Not sure but it also might be the East Texas record for all classes. They held 9 of 12 teams they played that year scoreless.

1956 5-5-1 184-111 Bill Denman District Champs, Lost to McLeod 27-0 in Bi_District

1960 10-1-1 326- 78 Jackie Cannon District Champs, Defeated Alto 20 to 12 in Bi-District, Lost to White Oak 0-22 in Regional

1976 10-2-0 305- 81 Guy Harrison District Champs, Bi-District Champs over 12-7 Tatum, Lost to Mart 15-26 in Area

1982 8-2-0 194-119 Lester Belrose District Champs, Lost to Burkeville 27-7 in Bi-District

1988 8-2-0 306- 68 Buddy Pierce Lost to Overton 14-16 in Bi-District

2001 9-3-0 298-153 Greg Porter Bi-District Champs over 13-7 East Chambers, Lost to Mart 0-18 in Area

2010 8-3-0 Jim Bradford Lost to Big Sandy 13-19 in Bi-District

2014 9-2-0 Jason Ferguson District Co-Champs,Lost to Ore City 0-46 in Bi-District

They were co-champs or tri-champs in 7 other years but did not make the playoffs because only one team went back then.

Good info Brad. For some reason I was thinking the 2001 team won 2 playoff games.

75973 S'ville!!! Don't expect these young men to forget the out co e of the past 3 years. When they saddle up friday, they will reciprocate. The Dragons will score 60.

Oh by the way is the only back S'ville have # 32, or have we figured out we have a TEAM?

Defense plays well. Couple of good backs with speed...but 32 is a beast!

Brad is our official historian. In waiting on a book on sports, and on special points of interest of Shelbyville. However, your correct True Blue we did win 2 playoff games. Brad will see it and correct it.

Since you know so much, who else did we play and beat in the 2001 playoffs? Think real hard before you answer because it's likely your gonna be wrong.
