So what to expect in these first couple games for the US? Well, 1 point wouldn't be a disaster. I hate to say that, but Mexico is always tough so a draw at home would be excusable and the fact is we've lost every game we've ever played at CR, save for a single 1-1 tie back in 1985. That said we've had the Mexicans number in Columbus (although unfortunately it doesn't look like it's going to be terribly cold Thursday), so I'd like at least three points, and maybe then we could somehow steal a point at CR.

US got destroyed 4-0 by CR. I didn't get to see any of it, and for that I am thankful. (Fire Klinsmann.)

Qualifying resumes in the spring. Suffice it to say, we're in an interesting situation now. There's not necessarily any reason to panic yet, but things are definitely uncomfortable for us.

Oh, thank you. This was way overdue, should've been done after last year's Gold Cup debacle. The time since has been a huge waste.

The next guy (and right now it's looking like that will be Bruce Arena) will have to get immediate results. Our next qualifiers are in March when we host Honduras and then go to Panama, and we're going to have to take either 4 or preferably all 6 points from those.

Qualifying resumes today and it's do or die time for the US as they host Honduras. The US is fielding a weakened team as the injury bug has hit us pretty hard, but there are no excuses, gotta win. Gotta win tonight and at least manage a draw in Panama on Tuesday. A loss tonight and ... well that's too terrible a possibility to consider. We have to win.

Yup. Fantastic result. Largest margin of victory in the Hex ever for the US. Moved us up to fourth, based on goal difference. Just need one more like that Tuesday. Per 11v11.com, we've never lost in Panama (3-0-2 record).

An injury riddled US team gutted out a 1-1 draw in Panama. Pulisic set up Dempsey for a tap-in for our goal; Panama scored off a friggin' throw in just a few minutes later. Ugly game made uglier by a ref who refused to call anything.

Qualifying resumes in early June as we'll host T&T to finish off the first round of the Hex then go to Mexico to begin the second. Then in July we have the Gold Cup which presumably Arena will use to integrate some new, younger guys. Really looking forward to that; should be fun.

The strength Pulisic showed to fend off those 2 defenders all over him on that assist to Dempsey was Awesome to watch.

US holds off T&T 2-0 thanks to a brace from Pulisic. We gave up more scary chances to these guys than I would've liked, especially us being at home, but a win's a win.

We're at Mexico on Sunday.

Mexico smashed Honduras 3-0 while Panama unfortunately fought Costa Rica to a scoreless draw with the Ticos down a man for the last 35 minutes or so. Thought CR got away with a penalty late so it could've been worse.

Michael Bradley scored an early goal on a fantastic long range chip and the US held on to earn a 1-1 draw and a point against Mexico at Azteca. Great result.

While I hate playing for a tie, it was the smart play there at the end. Nice to clinch a spot in Mexico. Not many teams can say they have done that...
