I don't know that losing to another Big 12 team outside the state of Texas would have the same affect as losing to a fellow in state team from the Big 12. That doesn't mean I'm right, just my opinion.

No? While it may not have the same effect, the whole "A&M is still a middle-tier Big XII team" phrase would've been thrown around a lot, I think. Like you, this is just my opinion, we'll never know if it's the truth.
