With Texas High and Mt. P gettin upset that puts Marshall alone in first place. Marshall is unbeaten but we havent dominated many teams this year. If we keep playing to our opponents its going to cost us eventually. I think losing a game before playoffs may do this team alot of good.

I still think its likely we lose at least one game in district. We really havent looked that great. BUT at the same time it wouldnt be a complete surprise if we go undefeated since the rest of the district seem to be up and down as well. Marshall has to find a dependable 2nd scoring option behind Tiandre Jackson Young. Trel Patton can be that guy but his shot has been off since district started. Te Brooks has shown he can create his own and be a scorer but for some reason was moved down to JV.

Tuesday's match-ups

Marshall hosts Greenville

Sulphur Springs Vs. Hallsville

Longview hosts Texas High

Mount Pleasant Vs. Pine Tree

Friday night saw a number of upsets that have thrown the 15-5A race into a little bit of chaos. Hallsville's win over MP may have been the biggest shocker of the night as the Bobcats got their first district win over previously unbeaten MP. Pine Tree's win over Texas High was nearly equally as surprising. Marshall struggled, but managed to win at home over arch-rival Longview. SS made an even bigger mess of things with their minor upset of Greenville. Looks like no one will be knocked out of the race early on!

These upsets make this coming Tuesday's games even more intruging because it proves there aren't any real clear cut favorites in most of these matchups.

The Lady Lobos continued their domination over Marshall with a win, knocking the Lady Mavs out of the 4 way tie for first place that existed headed into the weekend. Now the logjam for the top spot is between SS, Hallsville, and Longview. Marshall and Texarkana are sitting in at 4th with Greenville lurking. MP and PT have almost played themselves into elimination.

Some big games on Tuesday. Sulphur Springs and Hallsville will be battling it out to see can remain atop the district, while the loser will fall back to the pack. Longview will face Texas High in a key battle for both. Marshall will travel to Greenville in a critical game for the Lady Mavs to keep pace. MP and PT will be playing to stay out of the cellar.

After trailing by 15 points in the third quarter, Texas High girls rallied and defeated first place Longview by a score of 73-67. The win gives THS the sweep for the night with the boys winning earlier in Longview. The girls travel to Marshall for a Friday night contest.

Our score keeper fell asleep a couple times. 5 points werent awarded. A three pointer and a layup. Need to do a better job. Didnt matter last night, but if we had lost by 5 or less it could have made a difference.

Don't both teams keep a book where they can contest the scoreboard during any stoppage if it's off? I kept the book a couple of times in Marshall and the score was changed a fe w times because my book and the opponent book matched each other but not the scoreboard.

Would be a good idea. This occured late and game was already out of hand. Sure it would have been caught in a closer game. I have a habit of looking at scoreboard after each basket.
