Wild74
It has probably been out a while but I have never seen it, Tony Gwynn was on it and I know he passed away a while back, Ernie Banks also.

Stoney
Late to the party as usual. Started watching BBOB. Had never heard of Bing Russell before. Childhood hanging out with the Yankees. Supposedly has Gehrig's last home run bat. Pitcher throwing no hitter in the Mavericks first game ever. Left handed catchers. Players getting car rides to the stadium from their apartment a block away. I've made it to 1975 before I had to call it quits. Finish it up tomorrow. cheaptrick77
^ a few historical/chronological inaccuracies/omissions aside (e.g. Gene Lanthorn's no-hitter DID NOT happen during the Mavericks' first game), the best Baseball documentary since Ken Burns' Baseball... Stoney
^ You mean Snake Pleskin fibbed to me? Lol I was shocked that there were no independent teams or leagues at that time. Or did they get me there too?
cheaptrick77
there were no independent teams or leagues at that time That part was true ... but (more) Frank Peters was not the Mavericks' first manager ;)

Stoney
Fastball is a must watch. George Brett, Tony Gwynn, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Al Kaline talking the great pitchers they faced. Bob Gibson talking about his glare. Steve Dalkowski. The Big Train. Rapid Robert. The Ryan Express. A little bit of everything for everybody.
Ettu
Ahh, Dalko and the Heater from VanMeter. Cheapy is posting box scores and pitching matchups. Colt 45 fans are irrationally over confident. The universe has renewed itself. Led Zeppelin II has been returned to its album jacket. Baseball season has begun. Things are right with the world again.
