GAME PREVIEW & SERIES REVIEW
For the 16th consecutive season, Longview is post season bound. Following a 35-21 victory over the Heath Hawks, that saw the Lobos having to rebound from a 14-0 deficit, the Lobos clinched their 42nd playoff berth in school history with one game to play. Longview will close up shop on the 2016 regular season when they host the Mesquite Skeeters on Senior Night at Lobo Stadium. The Lobos haven’t lost on Senior Night since 2003 when Lufkin defeated Longview, 14-0. The Skeeters come in eliminated from playoff contention with a 1-5 district record and following a 47-27 loss to Rockwall. Mesquite’s only district win came against Tyler Lee when the Skeeters went for a 2-point conversion in the final minute of the contest to defeat the Red Raiders 57-56. The Lobos will have to wait to decide who their first round opponent is depending on their result AND John Tyler’s result. A John Tyler victory would assure Longview the long trip to Beaumont to take on Beaumont West Brook. A John Tyler loss opens up the possibility that could see the Lobos host Lufkin with a victory over Mesquite.

I wouldn't wish what we went through in 2011, 12, 13 on ANY program that has a history of winning and pride (Well maybe ONE.....which shall remain nameless). While seasons (and in some cases) and dec

Terrible defense by Longview and bad coaching by King! How dare he allow 7 points... need to improve now or you are in trouble :p

Thanks 07. I can always count on your insight. Maybe we will see how "creative" King can be when he gets the pieces put together that will allow for a potent passing game. Until then though, I think w

Only thing left for Longview is to decide who they're playing in round 1.

JT win = West Brook in Beaumont.

JT loss/Longview win = Lufkin at Longview.

JT loss/Longview loss = West Brook in Beaumont.

Guess there isn't a time and date yet huh?

I'm almost positive everything is gonna be on a Friday night. I don't see why West Brook would help us out there.

I'm guessing our game will be Saturday if TJC isn't playing. The JT coaches seem to like Saturday games and I'm sure Quick will agree to it, if the start time isn't too early. I hope it's Friday night though

Would be a playoff game for TJC if they do play that day.

R11. Longview vs W12. Beaumont West Brook
R13. TBD vs W14. San Marcos

Quick question...if Both JT and LV win out, are they Co-Champs, or does JT take it all.

oh yea...not to be too picky, but your 11-6a standings are not correct.

In what world was the UIL in when they formed this region??? It makes NO geographical sense. Dallas area, East Texas, Austin, Houston, and Beaumont????

I'm sorry.... but SE Texas should be region III. I can somewhat wrap my head around Austin being in the region....but ideally....region II shouldn't go south of Temple/Killeen........ JMHO. Anything south of there should be in region IV.

It's like they purposely make region II as backwards and as difficult as they can make it. Meanwhile.... a half decent team can waltz to the semis in region IV especially.
