DaveTV1
I had one friend in school that caught the Mumps, and they wouldn't even let me visit him even though I had been vaccinated. It only knocks you out for a week, a lot like Chicken Pox that I contracted when I was 8. I never contracted mono, but knew a few in school that contracted it. I have yet to hear of a vaccine that has been effective against it. I suppose it's a problem for some parents that have a two household income, but in the 70's if you came down with a sickness that lasted a week or even a month it wasn't a big deal.
