Flag Football not any safer than Tackle?

I'm not buying this at all. I used to play touch football in the street everyday after school during football season. The only time that it was painful was if you ran into a mailbox, or was tripped and skinned up your knees or the palms of your hands. I did have one friend that broke his leg jumping up in the air for a ball and came down wrong on it. Heck we played touch football at the tennis courts at school after lunch, and no one was ever injured to where they even had to go to the school nurse.

Uh yeah, no... played full contact sandlot football as a kid, played touch football in the street, played sandlot baseball without helmets... somehow we survived.

Yep the only major injury I know from playing football in the backyard or on the field at the school was a broken collar bone. They did make us quit the rest of that year afterwards, but that could have happened playing many other sports. We were all mad about it, because the parent of the kid called the school to complain.
