BrawnyMan
In your opinion, who are the best starting pitchers in the game today? You can base it on their stuff, ERA, whatever you want. I am basing mine on raw ability to over power hitters, because I think ERA and win totals can be tainted due to the team some of them pitch for. My list: 1.) Noah Syndergaard 2.) Chris Sale 3.) Clayton Kershaw 4.) Max Scherzer 5.) Jacob DeGrom

Stoney
I might add Madison Bumgardner to that list. Can give you seven solid innings and provide his own offense with his bat.

BrawnyMan
I'm just saying, if I have one game I HAVE to win, and I can pick one pitcher to go out there for me. I'm taking Thor, and it isn't even close for me. He isn't even in his prime yet either.
Ettu
If we're using the "must win" scenario, it'd be real hard to argue against Madison Bumgardener.
BrawnyMan
I think it is just a preference thing. Syndergaard throwing 100+ with ridiculous breaking stuff, and not walking anyone is just too much for me to pass over. His coach actually has to tell him to make a conscious effort to not go out and throw too hard. Not throwing it too hard to preserve stamina equals mere 100-102 mph stuff. Could you imagine if this guy was a closer?
