Meador out in Lindale

Sounds like he set it up so it would be an in house hire, probably has somebody on staff that he thinks deserves the job and waited with the hopes of a simple promotion from within.

it is late, so may be easiest to hire from within unless the administration already has someone in mind.

Thank you Coach Meador for your 22 years in Lindale. You have had a positive influence on many students over the years. I've seen you working with students at your church, and many hours outside of your job. You care about students, and the lives they live. You have been a blessing to our community of Lindale. Good luck to you and your family wherever you go.

@Maya_Golden seems to have a lot of info on her Twitter. Indicating Meador is looking for new coaching job and that Lindale will make a hire in 2 weeks.

You're right Play action, 2 weeks sounds like a hire from within.

wouldnt make a whole lot of sense to hire from within a program that hasnt had a winning season since 2011

Meador has served our community well for over 2 decades. It's always hard to see a coach let go, it effects his staff too. But sometimes change is necessary.

At least the last 2 head football coaches have come from within. Owens and Meador. But we were having a lot more success back then than we are now.

It would be hard to justify letting Coach Meador go only to hire someone from his staff. But the time table isn't favorable for hiring someone from outside the program. Hopefully our administration and school board will get this one right.

Wishful thinking, but our superintendents brother is head coach at Carthage. Maybe he can convince one of their coordinators to come over.

Good luck to Meador and all the coaches now looking for work at such a late date. Thinking success in Lindale may be hard on the level they are now competing. Had some fun times watching Lindale when they put up a lot of points. That loss to Dangerfield though was a wow moment.

Look at the film. They can't consistently compete against 5a opponents.

They will benefit from the Big School/Small School 5A split starting in 2018. But you are right, they do not have the kids to consistently compete against the Bigger 5A schools that they have to play every week in that District.
